I don't know about Mexico, but most hues shower at least twice a day. Not necessarily because we feel we need to be more hygienic but otherwise it's so hot most of the time that it's impossible not to do it, unless you want to smell like sweat for most of your day.

I haven't used use shampoo on my hair for 9 months as an experiment.
Every now and then I use bit to clean my scalp but even that tends to dry it and cause dandruff and local inflammation plus it dries up my (long) hair and makes it all frizzly and damaged. It does not smell or isn't greasy so why bother really.
I shower daily after work and go to sauna on saturday but I avoid excessive use of soap.
Atopy is a bitch to live with and it is with you till grave.
