Any good Pizza place in Iassi?
They're Indian

I worked quite a few jobs for a international company and was able to meet people from all walks of life. I've met a number of people I either didn't get along with or I outright despised but I atleast met one person from each country that I considered a pal.
Except Romanians.
I NEVER met a Romanian I liked. Complete ass lickers who will stab you in the back for their own benefit first chance they get. No morals.
What is it about Romanian culture that makes it this way? I've asked this before and I've gotten generic answers about communism or them being gypsies but there were other post-commie blocstates people there and I know for sure I never met a Romani person. Fuck Albanians too fuck.
the region which included the present territory of Romania (known as Dacia) was inhabited by thracian tribes. They got conquered by the romans and after the roman administration and army left, all the barbarians that tried to cross the Danube to get to Rome passed through here (goths, huns, bulgars, pecenegs etc.) including slavs which were incorporated.
yes, definitely, there are many romanians that work abroad in the EU
i am not doing that. sorry
if you like urban exploring then yes. bucharest is a very chaotic city, but there's plenty to see.
i am not wasting my precious time on (you)
also ,sorry, i forgot to answer, it's not that bad living here, but it's pretty boring. there are many beautiful places to see here, especially in transylvania.
I don't really know what to tell you. From my experience, most people I've met were alright, nothing like you described. But maybe it's got to do with the fact that the communist regime in Romania (and in Albania as well) was probably the harshest out of the European ones. It was (and it still is) pretty hard to reintegrate back in Europe. It depends on how old the person is, I don't think the younger generation would act as you described, but back then that was kind of the norm (snitching on others, fighting for privileges etc.)
Is there any good Romanian literature?
These were definitely young people. Early to mid-twenties.
I haven't read that much Romanian literature, but interwar literature is considered to be the best. I can recommend you Mircea Eliade, he was a historian of religions (History of religious ideas), wrote about his experiences in India (Maitreyi), Emil Cioran, philosopher, wrote about existentialism, pessimism (A short history of decay, On the heights of despair, The struggle with being born) , Liviu Rebreanu wrote about the romanian soldiers' experience during WWI (The forest of the hanged), the romanian village (Ion, The revolt). There's much more to say about romanian literature, but I don't know that much about it. Most writers were better suited to a Romanian audience, but the ones I mentioned were at least more popular or influetial in Europe.
Do you like traps?
Have you ever seen the documentary " Children Underground"?
Then maybe you had bad luck with those people.
yes, I love traps, my favorite is the venus fly trap from saw.
no, I haven't but I'm gonna watch it. I suppose it's about the abandoned orphans? I've seen something similar about some people living in a sewer in Bucharest. If you haven't seen it already, I think it's interesting. youtube.com
There are more lengthy documentaries but they're all in Romanian I think.
What are your thoughts on Ceaucescu?
Children Underground really sticks with you, very grim stuff
¿Comprendes español con facilidad?
Well, he was a dictator that did some really stupid / messed up things: wanting to completely destroy cities and build them back up with commieblocks, banning abortion to increase the population which resulted in many abandoned children, copying the USSR when it made no sense, for example Romania became one of the world's biggest steel producers (but also one of the biggest importers of coal and iron ore) and many other things. There isn't really anyone that genuinely misses him. Some old people miss the regime, because they had a stable job and income, some boomers say he was a great patriot. But still, he didn't deserve to die the way he did. He was shot together with his wife on Christmas. His trial was organized by his over-throwers (who were pretty much highly ranked communists) which took over the country. Then they held undemocratic elections and used the miners to beat up those who were protesting against the new government.
So, nobody like Ceausescu, but I don't think anybody really hates him either.
thanks! I'll check it out
Well, I understood what you said without having to translate it. But Spanish is harder to understand than French or Italian. 22% of the Romanian vocabulary is borrowed from French, and many words in Italian are pretty much the same as in Romanian.
Tu înțelegi ușor româna?
He seemed pretty based and redpilled, it just sucks because he didn't really have many resources to work with. Plus, Khrushchev fucked over the Eastern Bloc with his revisionst faggotry. Had Stalin lived longer and had a more suitable replacement things would have been different. He seemed like a patriot though.
Did you know that 1 out of 4 germans are immigrants?
>If Romanians aren't slavs what are you.
the descendants of the Roman-speaking Balkan natives from before the great migrations whereas their relatives the Albanians are descended from the non-Roman-speaking part of the iron age Balkanites.

Do you vant to drink my blood?

Gypsies are Romanian but not Romanians are gypsies right ?
They're like a thieve guild in all but name.
>femanon or gay post
romanian and gypsy are interchangeable terms
not all Romanian*
Nah Northern romanian here, better ask me
You could interpret his patriotism as an attempt to appeal more to people. By the time Ceausescu took over in 1965, Gheorghe Gheorghiu-Dej (the previous leader of the party) was tried to distance Romania more from the soviets and become ore independent. And they used history to do so, bringing up how Romanians have always been treated unfairly by Russians. In 1968, after the Prague Spring, Ceausescu held a speech where he said he would defend the country from any invaders, even if they were Russian. This kind of was his moment of glory and many supported him. He also used history to put himself in a privileged position among Romania's rulers (this period was also the start of Dacia autism), basically proving that he was the direct descendent of an ancient Dacian king. This is another reason boomers call him a patriot.
Still, he destroyed a lot historical monuments, buildings, villages, churches and monasteries, some of which were even tied to the rulers he claimed to admire so much.
He also overworked and starved people so he could pay external debt and become more "independent".
I can't sympathize with what he has done and I can't really call him a patriot, not that it means much anyways.
no, I did not, thanks for informing me.
you mean the Roesler migration theory? the more popular theory now is that the Romanian population formed both north and south of the Danube (and later migrated north) and this would explain similarities with Albanian, and the aromanians living in the Balkans.
this you?
fukc I forgot pic

false, it has been proven time and time again that southern romanians are superior.

No you dont, frenckies always cried for their human rights
Of course I am a proud oltean. Muntenians aren't even true southern romanian, I wouldn't even consider them Romanian at all, if I may say so.
I won't even bother to respond to this. If you are an oltean you should already know why. But if you're not, (you) aren't even worth my time.
yes
thanks
t.
Yeah I also understood your sentence without googling it. Romanian feels weird to me, familiar yet exotic.
I want on oltean fren
here's a chart with all the different influences on the vocabulary if you're curious
sorry, it was not meant 2 be
Why?
why did you turn your flag vertical?
why did you switch to roman alphabet?
Because I am a very interesting and knowledgeable individual, so you have a chance to enrich your cultural horizons by discussing trivia about Romania with me.
the vertical flag was adopted during the 1848 revolution. Romania switched to the latin alphabet officially in 1862, but the change began around 1820 when they started using the transition alphabet with both latin and chylric characters so that it was easier for people to get used to it.

What is your opinion on Moldova and Dobrogea/Dobruja?
Age and what do you uărc or stadi?
Do Romanians know that people all around Europe use "romanian" as a synonym for gypsy and genuinely don't know the difference?
How do they feel about it?
not op but personally I dont care
>Ceaușescu
>He seemed pretty based and redpilled
Honest question: How much of a retard do you have to be to believe this?
how's this based ass nigga seen in your country?
50/50 he was pretty based and red-pilled
No external debts, so jewish banks had no power here
No globalists
No cuckery
but....
poverty
a bit of hunger
poor life conditions
I am personally glad that they do, just keeps us looking uninteresting so we can be under the radar. Gypsies are only 3% of the population (same as in Hungary btw), but they go where there's money, so the european countries, and they say they're romanian, and you probably don't see the good romanians cause they're busy working and not begging. Nobody likes gypsies here either, nobody trusts them.
Ceaușescu paid off the external debt by 1989, just as communism fell. He starved the population to do that, but he was one of the few.
>socially conservative
>pro-natalist
>patriotic
>anti-soy
>anti-degeneracy
How was he not based and redpilled?
Compared to UK anything is based and redpilled.
I am curious if the fact that he paid off the debt had anything with him being overthrown (by jews).
tell me about all that hungarian enclave, transylvania stuff or whatever
I don't understand
How many are they?
Well, Moldova is the poorest region of Romania (and one of the poorest in the EU) and it has some bad reputation surrounding it, but I've met some nice people from there. Many come to other cities to work and study (especially in Bucharest). There are also lots of monasteries to visit. Moldova used to be way more important and influential but after uniting with Wallachia, things were more centered around Bucharest.
Dobrogea is doing better though. There are also many paces to visit (the nature is especially beautiful). It used to be one of the most diverse regions in Europe (there used to live bulgarians, turks, russians, jews etc. and romanians didn't even have the relative majority).
nice try hacker, i'm not giving (you) my data
I don't really think that's true, it's just an exaggeration. I did see some people who didn't know the difference but I don't really care.
He's become more of a mythological character representing justice, his achievement are not really that talked about. when complaining about politicians and corruption some boomers say things like "man, I wish Tepes was still around" and sometimes people voted for Tepes during elections.
Do you support moldovian integration into romania?
Hungarians are the most significant minority in Romania, there are about 1.2 million of them. They live in the central counties (Harghita, Covasna, Mures) where there are mostly hungarian comunities and I think they are the majority there. This region is called Székelyföld (The land of the Székelys or something like that). The Székelys are a distinct magyar etnic group. They arrived in Transylvania around the 10th or 11th century (I think) along with germans to colonize the region. They want the official language of Székelyföld to be hungarian and to be more independent from Romania in general. Though the situation isn't really that bad. Romanians and Hungarians manage to live peacefully there, though there are some incidents from time to time caused by nationalist (from both sides).
>boomers say things like "man, I wish Tepes was still around" and sometimes people voted for Tepes during elections.
absolutely based
It's a bit difficult. There are a lot of minorities in Moldova (russians, ukrainian, gagauz) and they would probably be more in favor of staying close to Russia. And besides Moldova, all the corrupt politicians and institutions would be integrated here. There are many problems that come with Moldova, and we may be doing better but I don't think we're prepared. Other than that I think most Romanians want them to join, but I don't know if the same thing can be said about people from Moldova. And I think most want to join Romania so that they can be part of the EU, not necessarily because we're long lost brothers or something. But some really want to see Romania (mostly) unified again.
not gonna lie, lads, this is pretty cringe.
What do you guys think of us?
I don't really hear people talking about Greece that much here. I think generally people have a good opinion on Greece, or they don't really care (though Greece used to have a big influence on Romania in the past). I have met some Greek people and they were really nice. Also greek food is pretty popular (gyros, souvlaki) and many Romanians go to Greece to spend their holidays.
fuck the EU, fuck the euro and fuck g*rmany
