Ever since Islam conquered Iran, Persians appropriated it and reshaped it into their perspective and through Islam they Persianized culturally and genetically both Indians and Turco-Mongols. 40-50% of Turkmen and Uzbek language is derived from Farsi and so is Hindi/Urdu. Not to talk about architecture and infrastructure which was designed after Iranian one. Iran is for Central and South Asia what Greece and Rome are for West civilization.

nearly every popular song in Bollywood is Persiaboo. Indians learnt Persian and Sanskrit like Westerners learn Greek and Latin.

India poets love to use persian phrases in their poetry as do regular indians while speaking Hindi.

South Indians aren't included here, they retain the original Dravidian culture that was formed 3000 years ago. They are definitely more English influenced than Persian influenced.

Majority of borrowed words from Arabia came in through Farsi imposed by Mughals. Also what does knowing Sanskrit personally have to do with large UK and Iran influence on hindi which is main language in India now.

Most of Indian buildings in last 500 years look either Persian or Victorian era architecture cause Mughals and Brits loved that shit and you had to build it for them.

There are obviously counterexamples of Sanskrit and Hindu culture in Bollywood but the Persian influence is very noticeable.

English influence seems way higher, farsi collapse after end of mughal rule whereas english thrived even 70 years after british rule. Moreover majority of farsi words in hindi are themselves originally arabic (examples - waqt, intezaar, mushquil, museebat etc.)

Source? True for urdu but not for spoken hindi let alone official one, spoken hindi is roughly 15% foreign (including english and persian) and official hindi is barely 1% foreign.
