I signed an apartment lease in Isla Vista, California without looking at property first.
Turns out it's fucking disgusting. Pic related. I don't want to have to live here for 12 months
At least I got a deal on the rent locked at 1850$/mo

Landlord should fix it up before you move in.
Seriously. I'm a fucking retard.
How can I break the lease early.
>$1850 p/month
>california
lmao. so this is the power of communism
thats cheap af. in the bay area its over 4 grand a month for a 1br1ba
you shouldn't have the burden of fixing the place up. but yet you are an idiot for renting a dump. that is what whale asshole looks like. xd.xd.xd.
1850 for that? Holy shit am I glad I live in North Carolina
No way that a landlord who owns a property that looks like that can afford expensive legal fees. Just tell him fuck you and get the fuck out. You might be out your security deposit, but isn't that a lot better than living in a shithole like that for a year? Think of it as a moderately expensive lesson to remember to always look at the property first.
This is my bedroom
Previous tenant grilled with propane indoors.
i doubt you would be able to get the lease broken but you can try to get it cleaned
not entirely sure how it works in america (i think it would be the same..) but in australia the landlord needs professional cleaning before new tenants can move in.
Speak to a lawyer ya fucking brainlet to null your lease. There's many tenant rights lawyers that will even help you for free
Toilet was clogged
The power of capitalism more like considering the median household income in california is twice that of some place like ohio.
>find someone stupider than you
>sublet
DUDE I LIVE IN IV!!! WHAT UP IM ON DP
also the fuck bro? i never seen an apartment dirty like this. all the landlords here usually clean out the apartments every year and then take it out of our security deposits
I might be able to if I clean it
Closest price is 2k for a studio around here.
Pic related. More expensive smaller studio nearby.
Yeah and the rent is way more than twice. This apartment would be like $300 a month or less anywhere I've lived.
>the power of communism
>the power of capitalism
More like the power of tech faggots having no common sense and moving into the same 4X4 foot square in the San Francisco bay area or some other overpopulated shithole in Cali
dude for real how long have u been in IV? i love living here man. gonna start my third year of college soon
Ey bro this is 855 Embarcidaro Del Mar Unit 4. It has no doorknob yet, litterally previous tenants removed the doorknob with a bolt cutters.
Have fun. I went back up to SF for the weekend so it should be empty. Nasty ass place
lmao what am i supposed to do there?
Lol I dunno. Look around and see I'm not bullshiting. Im still kinda half in shock myself.
Shit looks like you can film a Saw movie I there. Your options are go to Home Depot and buy cleaning/paint supplies. Hold back rent from the landlord for your labor and supplies purchased. You can break lease and lose tour security deposit, but you may get taken to court for the rest of the year's lease payments.
Look into the laws there, I'm pretty sure where I live the landlord is responsible for cleaning and a fresh coat of paint. I'd also rent a carpet streamer for that filthy carpet.
>tfw you bartardedly have another annon your address when your 300 miles away
>Tfw you actually don't care if annon fucks it up. How will the landlord even know who did what?
God damn I would rather live at the loop
hahaha im good dude. decent location though but sorry ur house is so shitty, hope u can break your lease. r u living w roommates?
Nad dog that's the thing I'm sick of dealing with roomies coming in and out. But I wanna be near dp and all the food in downtown and I need to be able to bike to UCSB.
I wish I had just gotten student housing like a normie.
>1850$/mo
No, you have to be lying/scamming or something. That can't be true.
yeah dude u definitely should have gone for student housing, thats so much to pay for your own rent. i live oceanside 67 dp its dank. ur right next to buddha bowls which is flames and close to subway lmao i be eating at subway. ucsb is sick as fuck!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Open up Craigslist for Isla Vista and search for studios
I looked up California's laws for rentals and they're fucking embarrassing. That shithole is perfectly no legal to rent like that.
Perfectly legal*
Why it sound like a lot desu
>Carpet in the kitchen
Do Americans really do this?
