High test

it seems fast because of their syllables and vowel ratios between the words and they do a kind of quick fire talk on the radio and tv but normal conversation is pretty much the same speed due to more of the string of sayings they have it chains up faster

>It seems fast because... it's fast

zoom zoom

go play fortnite zoomzoom, maybe thats more up your speed

>people naturally speak their languages faster than what learning materials and the media portray
wow

zoomers going zoomies

i dont get it

Because we naturally contract words.
Look at this example

"¿Qué es esto?"
A foreigner learning Spanish would say the words fully and separated from each other.

Now what a native would say
"¿Quésesto?
We combine Qué and es and pronounce it fast.
And it's not just that.

"Qué hora es?" > "Queoraes?
"Qué estás haciendo?" > "Questas haciendo?"

And any native is full of bullshit if they say we don't do this.

cojones

Some people were expecting speakers of different languages to speak at the same pace as their A1 beginner material, so they compare it to gatling guns

You may say that but how come I've never understood this guy
youtube.com/watch?v=YaYFiMEL_8Q

because he doesn't speak English, he speaks Jamaican Patois

>contract words
They are called hiatus

wasn't hiatus when you link a vowel-starting word with a vowel-ending word?

ah yeah saw his post. yep it's hiatus

Yes. See his examples "¿Qué hora es?" is pronounced as keoraes; "Qué es", as kes.
A contraction is "de el" turning into "del" (this one is a grammatical rule) or "para" turning into pa'.

Sheeeeeeeit. Why do understand Bob Marley then?

Gatling guns (right) are faster than shotguns (left).

It's just that.

hi

hello

Happens too with us trying to speak english:

How i speak english:
What are you fucking gay?

How you speak english:
Warayoufuckingay?

>Warayoufuckingay?

Have you been speaking only to Italian New Yorkers?

Si pudiera hablar el dialecto espantoso que los chilenos hacen pasar por español con fluidez sería tan feliz...

your mom's hiatus

Calling someone "zoomer" isn't an insult. It's a compliment because that means you're young and full of life. Now, being +30 years old and still posting on an anime forum, that's really pathetic.

i'm turning 32
