I only was at Altai mountains for rafting and it was fucking great
The russian far east is awesome for fishing. They have a lot of salmonids.
It can be pretty dangerous on "high water" though, 5-6 dead people every year
It looks so bleak and depressing, but then you get to come inside of your apartment and its super comfy. It makes you appreciate it more I guess especially in winter.
I was hiking in south Siberia this summer. I kinda like that population density is low.
