Before you buy anything, make a brokerage account and read investopedia articles and/or the books in the OP list. If you don't have a broker, you can't buy stocks, and if you blindly buy things without understanding how the stock market works or doing any research on the individual stocks you're buying, you will lose money and it will be entirely your fault.

i bought some shares. doesnt really look like its gonna move that much...my average is .5 and its even below that now. do you really expect it so significantly jump within the next few weeks?

How many NIO bagholders are here?

friendly reminder that at this point, TLRY and NFLX have roughly the same risk reward ratio with NFLX appearing to have a 420 potential from 370 based on Elliott Meme Waves and Fibs I looked at. Tilray having roughly a 220 potential from 175.

Just so you don't feel you MUST FOMO in to Tilray. Although you have more profit potential in Tilray admittedly.

>TLRY
You deserve to lose everything if you invest in this.

How do you feel about RIOT? I can't decide if I want to buy or not, which tells me I should stay away.

10 years of 100% growth is wiped out in 1 day of 90% loss. Leveraged ETFs are not your friend unless you are shorting them :)

I'm now at 100% earned from GTII investment but I'm still fairly afraid of a collapse. Is it generally a smart idea to sell half of the shares to guarantee money made or is it 'fuck it' time ride it to the moon?

Attached: Screenshot_20180918-213422_Finance.jpg (1440x2960, 467K)

If we go hard into a trade war with China, would buying into an inverse ETF be a good play if you don't have access to a margin account (or want to play it a little safer) but still want in on the action?

china is polluted as fuck so nio has potential because of clean energy alternatives.

>if

I know nothing about that stock, but I like the idea of getting rid of half, then seeing what happens with the rest. Congrats on your gains thus far.

If I were you I'd move this to another play that could have a similar run up.

Think CWEB, HEXO, or TRST.

There's a strong chance GTII will pull back heavy, especially after whatever the fuck went on today.

Or I could be completely wrong and it's going to behave just like Tilray.

Are you literally retarded? It's up literal thousands of percents over 10 years, and due to circuit breakers it will never be liquidated

BUY TQQQ

Tilray baffles me and that sort of growth makes me wary, I'll probably end up selling half and sitting on the rest till legalization date.

TLRY looks like a scam

Thanks for sharing that. If it goes down more I might grab a similar amount just to see what happens.

I'm going come out and admit it that I'm out of my depth here, so I wonder if this is all coming true as is or if in reality it's just a bunch of smoke being blow up everyone's collective asses that will disappear in a few months time when internal pressure mounts from US businesses on how much this will really screw everyone over.

>bb..but I'll only lose 60% in one day!
Enjoy the next crash. I'm sure NFLX and AMZN will stay strong with respect to their valuations.

Definitely. I'd been following MJ stocks for nearly a year....I can assure you TLRY was not a front runner in any category. Next thing you know, this happens. Bizarre.

You in any other companies?

The next crash will be in 2109 due to WW4

Attached: MFW1.jpg (199x204, 14K)

Pull profit. Up to you whether you want to let the rest ride or not. If you're a leaf and trading that on the CSE you cannot use a stop loss, meaning holding after this much of a gain is extreme high risk. If I were trading on the CSE and in your current position, I would sell 65% of my shares if not a bit more than that. It would be different if it traded on the TSX as you can use stops and trailing stops on the big boy real exchange.

It's not a scam. It's just ballooned to the point of instant rupture from a light breeze.

i treated it like a cryptocoin-etf based on a few reccomendations like 2 days after I bought it robinhood started offering crypto currencies for me, so it became redundant for me to own it

It is a scam though. There are two types of shares. The ones sold on the market and a different class of shares owned by controlling interests. The class of shares not on the market have 10:1 voting rights and must make up at least 10.01% of the share count. It's in the quarterly reports. The equity has no voting rights. It's literally fucking worthless.

How do you figure? They have been acquiring operations all over the globe while getting contracts all over Europe, Australia, and some US states. They have an enormous grow capacity with the retail side locked down with their purchase of liquor depot. WEED was pumped by institutional investors; has no profit; and was expecting to get most sales through the Ontario Gov dispensary operations which will no longer have a monopoly! nothing against WEED it is a major player, but ACB is THE long term play

banging out random chicks in your 20s is better than having a gf. If you are over 30 and have a girlfriend that doesn't have a kid. Good for you

Hell, that's $75 a quarter in divs and it's under $10/share. Do it.

Not a bad choice actually. it’s safe and won’t moon but will give healthy divs and is certainly undervalued

That's what bagholder thought before he got AIDs. Now look at him. He drunk posts every other night while looking for a minimum wage job to pay for his crack addiction.

I’m trying to make my entry into the market one of safe and slow investments. Gambling is for casinos, dividends and safe stocks to compound on top of my day job is that real shit

the correct option is to have casual hookups with men instead of wasting your time with whorish, disease-ridden thots and save an actual relationship for a girl/guy you could see yourself actually settling down with

Attached: 1489661600388.png (500x682, 240K)

Then go with an index fund like Vanguard. most people don't consistently beat the market.

if you do invest, just remember not to be emotional with buying and selling. don't sell just because the market is down, unless there is something legitimately wrong with the stock, it will go back up and surpass its previous high, likely within 12 months

Ya that’s how I started. Value investing is comfortable but it’s a long wait, and amounts to a really good savings account for the most part. My first buy was CSCO at $15.xx in 2011. Been getting descent divs for over 7 year (about 3% which if you are entering now is not as good as F’s 5/6%) and my investment has more than tripled. Wish all my trades were like that, even if it isn’t the quick money way.

forgot to reply with the post number

True, but you gotta have standards
Women are peak dating material when they are 18, men are peak dating material when they are 40

And your dating options are more than twice as large when you're 30 than when you're 20

Casual hookups are very bad, long lasting, loving relationships are the way to go
Men are peak dating material when they are 16

When I buy a limit order why shouldn't I set it to the bid price? I mean isnt that what everyone else is willing to pay?

You peaked too early son, you peaked when you didn’t even know how to peak

I have zero intentions of rapidly disposing of a stock. If it tanks now it’ll rise later, especially one like F. I’ll ride the dividends and if it spikes upwards significantly I’ll sell then rebuy on a downward spike

true, but it can be hard to find the right person to enter a long-lasting relationship with

Why is /smg/ so gay?

Reporting in. Please end me.

It depends how big the spread is ($ amount between the bid and the ask) and which direction you think the price is likely to shift, as well as whether you'd like the order to go through quickly or you're willing to wait for it to move. If you think a stock is likely to drop, you can set a limit order low in hopes it hits your limit order price before bouncing back up.

is there any reason why people are recommending GALT over other biotech companies?

>He drunk posts every other night while looking for a minimum wage job to pay for his crack addiction.
i'm failing to see whats wrong with this

Attached: id.png (1496x1119, 726K)

Oh, one more important thing about limit orders: It has to do with the order in which everyone entered their limit order for a given price. There are almost almost more than one order at a bid level. These orders will fill on a first come first served basis. This is why you will fairly often see a set of buys go through at your limit price, the share price goes up, but your own order never went through. You can skip the line by setting your order at the ask price or just doing a market order.

promising science, relatively low price, upcoming catalysts, has outperformed many other companies in the sector

Thanks for the help man, really appreciate it. I probably would just do market orders but my broker doesnt just let me set how much I maximally want to spend on a market order, so you cant totally predict what the cost will be. Its probably easiest and quickest, then, to just buy a limit order at the current ask price, and sell a limit order at the current bid price. Which is essentially the same as a market order, but at least you know the maximum you're paying

Hurry up. We're strapping in for the ride to $10. Plenty of room for you but we depart soon.

>Which is essentially the same as a market order, but at least you know the maximum you're paying

This is if you order to get in/out right away, yes. The issue with market orders is price slippage. A market order can of course be higher/lower than you anticipated (the bid/ask constantly changes) but it can also fill in several chunks of shares, some of which can buy/sell at different prices as the bid/ask moves. For example, let's say you want to 1000 shares of a stock with a current price of 5.00 and you market order it. That order can show up in your account like this:

>200 shares at 5.00
>200 shares at 5.04
>400 shares at 5.10
>200 shares at 5.12

Limit order ensures that does not happen, although if the price is dropping when it can happen in a beneficial way as your order fills at increasingly advantageous costs to you.

I strongly recommend you Investopedia the difference between limit orders, stop orders, and stop limit orders. Stops are a key piece of the puzzle.

just wait for the trade war (meme war (trump)) to end and ride the wave back up

but you would be stupid not to start accumulating as TQQQ dips

wait for da crash and ride da waves like in OP pic

>I probably would just do market orders but my broker doesnt just let me set how much I maximally want to spend on a market order

You can do this if you like with a stop-limit order. A stop means your order becomes a market order if, and only if, the share price hits your stop price. A stop-limit means your order is a live market order up until the price reaches your limit price, at which point it will cease to fill. Investopedia for more information. Also recommend youtube tutorial on stop orders and stop-limit orders.

>grind 2-3x as hard for shekelstein to get your 5% bonus marginally taxed at 50%
>buy TQQQ and make 60% in 12 months
is there something wrong with this picture here?

dont let greed get the better of you, leaving your money in at this point is essentially the equivalent of someone buying at the top if you think about it, pull all and start phresh on a new stock

You're ignoring the part where you forgot to sell one week at 59% gains and lose everything after you get elizabeth holmes'd

when the recession comes it will be very hard to cash out with optimal gains

the difficulty in TQQQ gains isnt buying and holding, it sknowing when to sell

im assuming buy and forget
I could also use the 40x analogy since 2009 if you want
regardless your shit is retarded bro

you could also beat holding gains by trading though so your shit is retarded

Do NOT touch this stock. It's a scam. It was a biotech company that changed to a blockchain company to inflate the stock price.

Who here's got the balls to short TLRY?

Thank you for the information. That is very helpful. I will be sure to look this stuff up

Looking to get into the game. Messed with etrade years ago, made a few hundred. What broker would you recommend from the pastebin?

Actual, principled conservative here. I've supported Donald Trump since he announced his candidacy in 2015, and I was beyond impressed with his decision to nominate Judge Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court of the United States. With that said, I take all matters relevant to sexual assault very seriously. I have a daughter, and I believe it is our duty -- no, our universal moral imperative -- to hear out all women who have allegedly been sexually assaulted -- including Kavanaugh's accuser, Christine B. Ford -- loudly, clearly, and as transparently as possible. We must also allow the Senate to conduct a thorough investigations of what are seemingly credible allegations of sexual assault. Remoteness shouldn't play much of a part in our considerations. Let me remind you that this isn't a partisan issue. Sexual assault harms everyone. Given my strong principles, I can even come to acknowledge the reasonableness with which Senators Kamala Harris and Chuck Schumer speak. Thus, I support a delay in the Senate's vote to confirm Judge Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court. Once he is cleared, I think the Senate should confirm him. And that's coming from an actual, principled conservative.

men peak at like 25 to 29 for dating dude, thats when youre at Maximum alpha physically and mentally

interest to borrow a share is 325%. ATM 30 day out puts have a $60 premium. It's brutal. You basically are betting that it immediately tanks or you lose.

That sucks but it's still not a scam. It will say exactly what you're buying on your broker's page when you look up the stock. Common shares or Class B-sub voting or whatever. They aren't hiding that, therefore not a scam, just shitty and a red flag to boot.
