Even though there is a Prince of Wales, it is a position entirely separate from Wales. It, along with other titles are bestowed on the heir apparent by the Monarch. Like with all other titles besides Monarch, they have practically no power.
The Welsh Government and the British Standards Institute both refer to Wales as a country.
