To a certain extent, I absolutely agree. However, since the United States is a representative democracy and not a direct democracy, we are kind of prone to being misled by our representatives. Education is absolutely key to a functioning democracy since you need education to make informed voting decisions, and our education system is kind of abysmal. It's kind of our fault, but kinda not.
