Yeah it is. Work your ass of in HS, go to a top uni and you'll get a huge headstart. Then ACTIVELY look for opportunities if your not satisfied,

Working hard at jeff bezos slave camp or similar hoping for a raise, OH NONONO

Its a primary component

Other primary components include likeability, network, luck, and health

If u have all of these and u still dont hit 6 figs, unironically kill urself

it depends on how you define ‚
‘‘ succes ‘‘ lets take financial freedom! i‘d say its a mix from the right people, hard work and a little bit of luck! on the other hand you could also have really much luck and make millions with, dont know, shit like crypto or winning it in the casino! lets say you‘ll start your own business to reach succes, you‘ll definitely have to work really hard !

>lets say you‘ll start your own business to reach succes, you‘ll definitely have to work really hard !

I think luck is still more important in starting your own business (I expect anyone who starts up a business is a hard worker).

“I returned and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet favor to men of skill; but time and chance happenstance to them all.

is kind of right. start coming into work before everyone else though and there will be someone else that will see this and perceive you as a threat

>smug delayed gratification
What if there’s never any gratification? All the work and boot licking is for nothing

You pick up a religion and linger on

True! luck is very important, my opinion is that the most important thing is to know the right people, and seeing upcoming chances and take them! You can have the best product at world but witout marketing and the right people behind nothing will work, and then we‘r back at hard work, marketing—> hard word —> and you wont meet the right people if you sit in front of your computer and just hangin out

This used to be me, but then I quit my job for something else that pays $40k better and now I get to architect my new company's systems however I want

There was an old phrase that was the dialogue between the boss and the worker.

The worker go to the boss and say:
-Hey, I have seen your new yatch photo, its seems great

Then the boss go to the worker and say:
-If you do your best in your tasks, improve yourself to the limits, be easygoing and flexible and do everything in the best way you can, if you do extra hours without comply, if you manage to do it all one thing will happen: You will help me buy a new one soon.

Then the worker would cry blood tears, would have a heart attack and the boss fired him because he died.

Thanks.

Success is being in the top 10% industiousness and having a 130+ IQ

Bonuses: being tall (>1m86), looking good (strong jaw line, not balding, symmetrical face), low agreeableness + neuroticism (bottom 10%)

This is at least 90% of what you need, feel free to add some bonuses

But that would require a time machine

Reality

>I'll just get a little bit more done despite only being paid for set hours thus working for essentially free and dragging my average hourly pay to minimum wage levels in order to earn more profit for my boss

I used to think like this, but there will always be someone more bluepilled, more NPC and better at sucking your boss's dick than you. You should aim to maximise the time you can to focus on yourself outside of work.

Sucking your bosses dick just gets you one step higher in the wageslave hierarchy rather than aiming for self-sufficiency.

To OP:
I think smart work > hard work
smart work + hard work = success

what they're not showing here is the gumption needed to get that promotion. hard workers who don't have gumption get nowhere. if you're not asking for those raises and promotions (or just jumping to better jobs every 2-4 years), you'll never get anywhere. mediocre workers with gumption get much further than good workers who sit still.

also given this is PragerU, i'll go out on a limb and say the omission of gumption is deliberate. these guys are corporate shills through and through intending to make good workers.

> Quote from?
the absolute state

>Prager U
Yikes

word and effort are a prerequisite, after that luck and chance determine the result. in other words work is a necessary yet not sufficient condition, I think crypto shows that bluntly

From a practical standpoint theres no difference between work and luck.
But it think perhaps the best word to describe the intersection between and work and luck as "good timing"

This is the most clear, see-through wagecucking propaganda I've seen yet, really getting down to the point, no sense of broadness or subtlety
Even literal Gold Stars to the woman on the right

I live the saying :

Luck comes to those who are prepared.
Luck favores the prepared ones.

People often say "he had so much luck"
No, I was prepared for certain things to happen, I was prepared to meet certain people and when that moment happened I did the right thing because I was prepared for it to happen one day.
I was looking out / searching for my luck so to say.

How is luck and chance so overrated on this thread
Not just good timing but the intersection between the need and the capacity to fulfill that demand in a way that no one other can defines purpose to be competitively employed/ unique selling point

Also drive and discipline IMO too many people skip the lessons you learn from experience just because being a wage slave doesn't reduce you down to a number

Hard work is only worth it if you're working for yourself. Working hard for others is idiotic in 99% of the cases

Yeah except being prepared isn't hard work, it's mostly just be alert to what opportunities to take

PragerU is horseshit, they've lied and spread propaganda numerous amounts of time. Especially when it comes to non social stuff like Science, it's fucking trash.

Drive and disclipline are there because no one has perfect timing. On the flipside preparation can be hard work because you need to cultivate skills and resources.

>Capitalizing science
n-nope guys, no fedora tipping going on here i s-swear

you're right that they've spread lies and
propaganda, but (with the exception of the global warming stuff they've put out) it is mostly normie propaganda meant to drive votes from moderates and the like.
Best left ignored for anyone selfaware enough to not be a normo

It still needs hard work for everything else outside of that.

GOOD LITTLE WAGIE!

WHO'S A GOOD BOY? WHO'S A GOOD BOY?

I think you deserve to go outside to play after working so hard my little wagie!

>this is what people who got lucky actually believe
what about all the people who worked hard but didn't get lucky? luck certainly favours the prepared, but not all who are prepared get lucky

meant for

Who gives a fuck. Success is overrated. I've hated every rich and every poor person I've ever met.

>the secret to being a good goy

Hard work for the sake of hard work is retarded. I was in the military and then at a factory for years, busting my ass and breaking my back.

My current job pays three times as much while requiring the same (very little) amount of education. I sit behind a computer all day in pretty much stress-free enviroment.

WORK SMARTER

NOT HARDER

Attached: 8nRqoXW.png (800x729, 48K)

I prefer the expression, "Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity." Or, "If opportunity isn't knocking, build a door." Similar idea.

That being said, the OP image is a surefire recipe for busting your ass for little to reason.

absolutely yes, but only if you work for yourself.

The secret to success is telling your workers the secret to success is hard work.

> Find a job nobody knows how to do
> Do it half assed or honestly, idc
> Nobody can criticize you, as they know shit about it

>get absolute asshat management put in front of you
>they criticize you without knowing why because thats what their slave driver school taught them
Yup, boomer economy

This makes sense but I had never pinned down the word before. You have to ask for what you want.
