This is their recent press conference. At 25 mins Khabib mentions his plan is to win by decision and win every round. But I doubt the words of his countrymen, family, and leaders will let that game plan stay so safe.

Yeah, if it goes to decision and they give it to Connor it will undoubtedly be the biggest robbery in UFC history, worse than sonnen/silva

Think about this guys, every round starts standing up, Conor has a huge advantage there. Khabib will likely take at least a few shots and coming from Conor that'll be very dangerous for him. Khabib has fought like what, 2 people in the top 15 lightweight division? And no one with the skillset that Conor possesses. I really want to see Khabib win because he'll be a much more active champion but I really don't think it looks great for him in this fight.

Dude come on man, I'm a Connor fan but let's be honest that presser was a loss both ways. Without the crowd Connor seemed visibly nervous and shaken, yeah he rattled khabib a bit for sure but he came across as a nervous pretty wreck. It wasn't the usual natural confidence eminating from him, it was very forced.

Khabib is a much surer bet than the odds suggest. It's worth it to roughly get a 70% return on your money.

Khabib has faced a dozen strikers, and he's ragdolled them all. Look at Johnson or barboza, they got rekt and rekt badly.

Connor has faced one good wrestler, Mendes, and he barely survived.

If khabib gets the takedown early in the round Conor will be sapped of energy. His standup will fade as well as the TD defense. Conor has to weaken khabib right out the gate. Khabib has time to do his work (as long as he doesn't get early damage or KOed)

McGregor was practicing the specific counter before walking out to the ring that KO'd Aldo. Everything from the trash talk to the counter was planned, and the counter wouldn't have been there without the trash talk.

Aldo was baited much more easily than khabib will be. Khabjb knows McGregor's playbook now, he's gonna be cautious and pick the shot. When he gets the takedown Connor is done.

McGregors purpose in that pressor was to create a media splash to jack up the PPV buys, and to find a chink in Khabibs armor, or Khabibs support system. If you can't fire up the opponent, you can light a fire under him through his support system.

Conor set an expectation early in his career for bringing wildness to pressers. He's been jacking up the energy each presser since so that it stays effective in helping him create the media cannonball he wants. Without the crowds energy to help him draw out taunts and barbs McGregor had to inject all the energy himself and keep doing so. Khabib surely won't do it because he's got the charisma of a potato so all that was left for McGregor to do. Conors talked about this a lot in interviews.
