sorry partner, gold had its years, but as soon as we invented the internet its days were numbered. everything is getting digitized, and the most obvious candidates are intangibles like money. people applied the money label to gold, but new generations care less and less about metal representing money.

Fair point, I agree that gold coins are far superior in terms of verification. However, as far as preservation of wealth goes, I rather own one gold bar than 24(?) gold coins. Also, traps aren't gay.

It's pretty easy to keep a blockchain going in most doomsday scenarios. Could even be more relevant for the rich & powerful. A crypto transaction is like 10kb, you could do it over microwave.

The problem with large kilo bars is they are not divisible, which means that you are going to be severely limited if you need to liquidate your gold. The average joe isn't going to have $40k to buy a bar. Say you need a quick $2500, well you can't scrape off 2 oz of gold to sell and then replenish it later, you gotta sell the whole thing back on the exchange. Whereas if you had a tube of 25 eagles or krugs you could just sell a couple if you needed.
That's why you stack firearms as well. I'm apart of a local militia, so if things went south I've got a dozen other heavily armed guys ready to go. You want to BE the warlord, not the warlord's bitch.
