Anyone asking questions about how Ethereum worked or why it was necessary to have its own coin was met with DYOR or calling them retarded. I mean there was just a certain arrogance they had. Like they knew it was the one and no one could tell them different. There were some breadcrumb threads involving Microsoft but I feel like that speculation was more common in XRP threads at the time. You had the typical "Ethereum's gonna moon!","$500 a coin easily!" and at the time it seemed almost delusional. I still remember an user saying he was going to work his shitty job for the next year and live off eating rice and is going to put $400 a month into Ethereum back when it was consolidating to $6. I wonder how hes doing now and at what price he sold. I also remember an user who claimed to be older man who told me he convinced his family to all invest into Ethereum around that time, told me technical trading will only get you so far and boy was he right.

I think just shortly after ETH ICO it shot up to 2nd or 3rd total market cap, behind BTC and maybe behind XRP although I cant remember and cant be bothered to look it up.
