I have seen the original user that did this thread I learned a lot from it, I miss ya bud :(. Here a thread in his tribute. I saved his first /entg/. ill post some of it here. a lot of knowledge here --------- tribute to one of the smart investing user edition In this thread, I'm going to compile the best passive income streams ordered by investment required, including both online and offline options
Little to no Investment($100-$1k) >Dropshipping >Social Media Marketing >Digital Media or Marketing of any kind >Web Development >Freelance software development >Affiliate Marketing >Making Online Courses
Some Investment Required($1k-10k) >ATMs >POS Systems >Slumlording >Daytrading >P2P Lending >Authoring or Online publishing >Vending Machines >Automated News sites or any kind of automated blog >Automated online Arbitrage with the help of a buybot
Large Investment Required, but still very passive(10k+) >Parking Garages or lots >Laundromats >Batting Cages >Rental Properties >Buying Royalty rights on music, media, etc
I'm sure there are dozens of others that are out there but that's what I can think of off the top of my head. I personally do 6 of these and those 6 are my only streams of income. They are: >an ATM business with 10 machines at $3/transaction $200max >Three affiliate sites >A parking lot near my university(extremely high revenue but also my highest expenses) >Digital Media/Marketing Agency which I have people running so I rarely have to be involved >One rental property(barely profitable yet) And the big kicker >subscription based SaaS products, two of them with a third well on the way
Feel free to add more, but I think that's a lot of value that you won't find in most threads here.
I'm going to repost what the original user said about it. I hope he comes back to shed more light.

>So OP I am wondering about your ATM set up? Not sure what you mean. It's set up as an LLC in my name legally if that helps How did you get into this? I was out at one of the nightclubs and couldn't get cash, so the next morning I literally walked in during the day and asked the guy if he wanted me to set up an ATM inside. I paid for it, and now he gets 30% of each of the sales that occurs at his location. >Did you have to have POS experience or need to get any type of certification for AML/KYC. Didn't need any certification. However my high school job was working for a family friend who owns hundreds of POS systems around tallahassee, pensacola and tampa and I did all the servicing for the machines in tampa. I have also gotten him 10 accounts in tallahassee since I started uni here last year. >Did you buy the ATM outright and then try to figure out a spot to lease? Bought it myself and I share profits with the establishment owner. >have you been Skimmed yet? Yep but I or one of my friends check on all of the machines at least once day and I've shown them how to take them off. I'm reverse engineering them as a little side project.

All of them are in the following locations: >Nightclubs >Bars >Smoke shops >Parking lots or garages All of these are high traffic, cash businesses that require people to pay in cash or are generally paid in cash. 75-100tx a day at $3 each nets 300 a day from each ATM, minus revenue share from the existing business will net that much easily after expense

Different angle at entrepreneurship: Does anyone here have any experience with getting funding from angel investors? I have a software product that I wish to expand and sell. What do?
this seems really nice bump since i can't really contribute anything

Some advice on failure for those eager to quit their job to jump out on their own... 1.) Know your plan inside and out. For whatever service or product you offer, for how great it is, who exactly are you marketing to? Are yoy selling to 45 year old black women? B2B medical? Is there room for growth? 2.) Have the infrastructure for your business (legal, financial, presence) in place before you cut off your source of income. This way, you're immediately ready to get to work on what will replace it (your market). 3.) Timing. Do you have a product that will move at Christmas? Year round? What is the busiest season in your industry? 4.) Cooperate with your competition. You are smaller and less experienced than them, talking badly of them will do you no good. If theyre big enough, they may have too much work on their plate and you might be the perfect one to subcontract out to. I have to go for now

For a sole propiator llc, what do you need to write off an expense? My accountant says itemized receipts and invoices, but I am not real happy with them for other reasons. I thought you could use credit card statements if they were in the name of the business and you only need itemized proof if it is being reimbursed or meal comp or something.

Hey op here . I didn’t think this thread would be alive . But here we are

We need a somebody who knows about these unanswered questions
I do game development, not recommended since you need such a large skillset and the people you sell to don't really value the product. There was a time in the early days where you could sell an independently developed game for up to $30 but these days with Steam you're hard pressed to sell something for $10
You need something really good these days, example being the Factorio devs and their game they sell for $30, despite that they get huge backlash because of it.

why did the valued paid for games go down? because of cheaper knockoff versions or the popularity of free phone games?

how do i apply to only play games for work lel

the price of real prostitution will most likely go down as there is less demand. but probably only temporarily once people realize it not a real person and their not the same satisfaction and hormonal effect

Games got easier to make over time so the market is really saturated now. That's not to say you can't still make a good game and make money though.
Phone games were never really viable, there was a gold rush when the mobile market first started but it quickly became about who has the most money for advertising.
Become a twitch streamer or youtuber, if you want to do that it's all about being more of an entertainer than gamer. You can also apply to do QA but that shit sucks.

thanks, I appreciate it user, if you see this thread and are in a great mood come to bump it, or ask questions and pick other people brains you know what I mean.

Michael Allen
market it by yourself lmao. why get an angel investor to take your shares. when you can grow slowly with all your shares. >t. a fag doesn't know what he's talking about
Kevin Gray
appreciate that you shared this user! helped me out and i know it can help alot more others

you mentioned phone games were only viable in the starting phases of mobile devices. do you feel that way with games on blockchain? well, that is if you also interested in crypto lol I don't want to force that in this thread, since the whole board is crypto spamming
