I had to go to the ER twice in the past few months. Looking at the bills, without insurance, I would be $28,000 in debt right now.

nice try larper
yeah, why do you think insurance is so fucking expensive? it's because they don't let people with no prospect of repaying die on the curb, instead everyone else has to pay for them. not to mention that there is an industry built up entirely around medical billing and medicare code entry. the entire thing is a big moral hazard dumpster fire that can only hurt you if you have money or want to own anything ever. you'll pay that back in insurance within 3 or 4 years (assuming you're in the lowest risk categories)
welcome to murica, here in europe we have thirld world trash coming but at least we do not have these third world problems
>costs the hospital maybe 400 dollars a visit
>hospital should charge 800 at most for profits
>instead charges you 20k a visit because you have insurance and nobody questions the prices
>insurance wrangles it down to 14k thinking they get a discount
>insurance companies charge more for premiums and cover less as hospital's continue price jacking
IT'S AMERICAS FAULT GUYS IF ONLY WE HAD SOCIALIST HEALTH CARE!!!
NO GOYIM YOU CAN'T CONTROL HEALTH CARE PRICES THROUGH THE GOVERNMENT BUT THE GOVERNMENT SHOULD PAY FOR IT!!!
Imagine being this retarded.
Europeans are truly the greatest people of all time
What does it cost with insurance?
very low because my insurance is good (provided through corporate employer)
You can thank insurance companies for that.
so I got hit in a hit and run last year, the ambulance carted me off to one of the most expensive hospitals in the country, $730,000 from all the surgeries. I tallied what it would have costed without insurance in u.k and it was 65k. so I told them to go fuck themselves. and they havnt called since.
I'm canadian, I just walk into a hospital and they fix me. Worst case I gotta spend 100 dollars on the ambulance hhhahHahhahsh
Fuck America.
Go to France and get medical help, you tell them you missed 4 days of work at so much and hour and they literally give you cash as you walk out of the hospital to make up for days off at no cost to employer. If we had that system it would get abused but the french don't fuck with it cause the benefits outweigh the benefits of abuse.
Move away from burgerland and denounce your Americanship cause your just dollars to them.
Yes Mr. Eurofag, your kidney should be ready in 30 years. Please kindly wait in the back of the queue
it might end up on your credit report, but you could just use the sam hyde method of paying them $3 a month worst case
France is indeed #1 in the world in healthcare. I'd like to leave burgerland, but it would be painful to leave my family all behind. Perhaps when the time is right.
>but you could just use the sam hyde method of paying them $3 a month worst case
lmao, can you elaborate on this?
I had a single trip to an ER cost me 21k and they didn't fix me, they just put me in intensive care for a day and kicked me out onto the street.
Should I pay up or how does this Sam Hyde method work? I wanna know too
If insurance wasn't provided by your employer how much would it cost you?
if you don't have insurance they'll settle for 90% off of your bill. Fucking talk to them you retard.

No idea if it works, not financial advice. But I did see someone else say here they sent $5 to the hospital saying that's all they could afford, and it was paid as a tax write-off at the end of the year.
kek, this is pretty bad advice. it varies state to state I believe though. in some places it might work.
What happens to people who actually just straight up can't pay? Why do I hear about niggers getting away with going to the ER for everything but white people being in debt $100k's?
they send you mail and call you. I think it varies state to state as far as whether it can even go on your credit report. in some states it can't, so it's essentially just them sending you letters with not much leverage. it's possible they could garnish wages but I've never heard of that happening
interesting. and what happens if you simply move out of state if you get hit with such a huge bill?
this all sounds incredibly bizarre and backward to me, why is the system so broken?
oh yeah I forgot it also doesn't have interest... so basically it seems to me that it's on the honor system or something. I've talked to people who work in hospitals and every single person I've asked says it's a huge shitshow wherein nobody knows what the fuck is going on and after a while things just disappear if they aren't getting paid.
jesus
They should qoute you beforehand and give you the option to euthanize instead
maybe you shuldnt havebeen a moron
these went up a lot since last time I looked. the whole problem is only going to get worse too due to demographics. the healthcare ponzi needs more young people who rarely use healthcare to pay for the old people who live at the hospital, as the real boomers retire this will potentially be a disaster
U.S. healthcare is trash, like #27 in the world, just a total embarrassment
tfw haven't been to the doc since I was 18 like 20 years ago
need to get my shit together, I probably have at least 3 types of cancer by now
I think you missed the point completely. In rural Australia a GP gets paid $2000 a day before 401k and bonuses.
There simply are not enough intelligent people willing to go into health for the size of the population. Now go look supply and demand..
>for the size of the population
>I was free to buy insurance but decided not to
>my choice coaxed me into a snafu
>someone else is responsible for this!
>amerishart believe this
We have top notch equiment/doctors, way better than yours.
And its all free, hospital, chirurgy, dental care, scanners, drugs, ALL IS FREE
HAHHAHAHAHA
Oh, do the tanned Germans pay for it?
I don't know who pays but it's free
Boomers can pay for themselves
There's poor people in every country. The fact is, the problem with insurance in Burgerland is that it's a for-profit system. For example, the ceo of United healthcare alone makes $14.5 million every year in just salary.
That's $14.5 million that doesn't go to healthcare, but to someone's wallet. If you eliminate the for-profit aspect of US healthcare across the dozens of insurance companies, you free up hundreds of millions of dollars to go to, you know, actual healthcare instead of profits.
you can thank insurance companies for that. put healthcare in the free market and all the sudden everything becomes cheap and easy.
