it's a free market and everyone needs a roof. if you can afford to pay 90% of your income on rent and still be alive, that's how much it will cost. the moment members of your class start dying due to the inability to pay for a roof while other members refuse to pay for the roof you were going to rent, that's when prices start falling.

probably because the (((powers that be))) have financialized everything, inflating the value of houses with easy FHA loans, opened the southern borders wide for millions upon millions of "New Americans" to come in and suck up all of the resources including real estate, as well as allowing unrestricted foreign "investment" from China in real estate that they have no plans of inhabiting.
