Because pajeet & chinese companies ruin everything with their dodgy & unregulated crypto markets and you can't trust anyone, Australia has great laws regarding peoples finances, it's not just based in Australia, it's world wide - it's just being implented in Australia first because we don't have any reliable exchanges here, just brokers.
Australia also one other exchange available but it only trades the main coins (Eth, Btc, Litecoin, BitcoinCash) Nothing for alts.
