Masari is actually one of the better projects out there at the moment. They are implementing uncle mining and blocktree sharding soon. I hold a small bag just in case.
Uncle mining will be the passport for Bittrex listing. This will lower the block times, and it will have more TPS and a lower confirmation time for txs.

Well, they use RingCT since block 0, so the code is less bloated. Also, they propose some different things from Monero, like Uncle mining (almost finished, already in testnet) and sharding (blocktree), which will be researched after uncle mining implementation. Both will have whitepapers, so other projects (even not CryptoNote ones) would use it as a base for future implementations.
That's worked out well for bcash.

This idea is going to fall flat on its face and you can already read tons of complaints about mining difficulty. I know "in theory" it doesn't matter since your rewards should technically be the same, but the reason pool mining exists is so subsistence miners can pay their bills at the end of the day.
