wat
My roommate left his ledger wallet laying around
user, you are a fucking degenerate.
here is what you do:
dismantle that crap, copy the memory to a file, research how the contents (private keys) are encrytped and structured take your sweet time (about 5 minutes) to churn that 6 digit pin on your computer.
these hardware wallets are retarded.
>his ledger
what the fuck? he may have a "wallet" but ledger is something else nignog.
You're an idiot, learn to password protect files and get a disaster proof USB.
And OP you are gambling, either you or your roomate are straight fuckin dumb. likely situation: the trezor you can see is a canary
i wanted to write my own paper wallet generator, the idea was to use very strong and redundant encryption so it can be secured by relatively weak passwords that you don't need to write down.
basically the paper wallet would be a backup for recovery and if it gets stolen the password gives me time to move the funds.
but i don't know if any opensource generators support adjustable cycle encryptions.
there is no such thing as a disaster proof USB wtf are you talking about? Anything that is a device can be destroyed or lost more easily than paper or precious metal. Astronomical amounts of crypto is lost forever because this stuff is bullshit to store. Let's face it, crypto is not the future of money unless we have trusted places to store it. Needs to be fiat notes to represent our holdings.
dubs of truth. I'm only here to make money short term. I'm never taking the chip.
Give it back Jamal.
>there is no such thing as a disaster proof USB
i think he meant water and impact resistant. there are plenty models to pick from. i mean if you use an usb might as well get a sturdy one. probably you want redundancy of course multiple backups all protected by password.
