BTC's days are numbered. Real innovation is happening in BCH and ETH. BTC is a zombie and lightning network is too confusing and edge-case ridden to develop on.

Can someone redpill me on what the implications are if Bitcoin is turing complete? Turing complete means that it can 'do anything' just like how a computer can be programmed to do anything right?
If that's true what does that mean for any of the altcoins and what does that mean for blockchain in general.

A BCH dev found BTCs biggest bug of the decade you absolute moron

"Any program that is Turing complete is by necessity Finite. Although you cannot decide IF a program will halt, any program that is Turing Complete will halt by definition."
"In (Wright, 2016) we demonstrate that the Script system deployed in Bitcoin is formed using the primitive recursive functions (Meyer and Ritchie, 1967)."
"This demonstrates that Bitcoin can incorporate total computable functions that are simply “recursive” as well as primitive recursive."
"bitcoin is for all practical purposes Turing Complete (indeed, as some other observers note, “Turing completeness is theoretical, nothing is Turing complete in practice”[2]). Accordingly, there are no real-life restrictions on its ability to perform sophisticated functionality such as the execution of smart contracts and implementation of DACs (Distributed Autonomous Corporations)."
TLDR:
You don't need ethereum. You never needed ethereum. It's a cool project at best. Bitcoin Cash is real money.
If SV has hashpower they will win. SV has a better proposal for the miners. This is the price we pay for refusing a reference implementation.
Interesting thank you so that confirms my thoughts that there will only be one blockchain when the dust settles, and that it will likely be BCH that takes over the world. So there's no need for ethereum, for link, or for anything other than Bitcoin Cash.
That is, if they can pull it off. The next few months should be interesting.

u r welcome. Fungibility is coming too.
"On Oct. 12 the Bitcoin Cash developer Chris Troutner published a new shuffling protocol concept called Tokenshuffle, a platform that aims to anonymize BCH transactions. Meanwhile, the Cashshuffle project has recently outlined the platform’s roadmap and accomplishments so far. Over the past few months the focus on bitcoin cash fungibility and tools that make blockchain obfuscation possible has become a popular trend among BCH proponents."

Sounds nice. As long as we aren't all forced to implant chips, this should be a good future we are going towards. programmable money will unlock a new future for humanity just like the internet did for communications
