KA is aight. prob tied w/pike for #1 imo bc of all the old money zoomer spawns that rush. delt/phisig pure ass cancer.

he kinda right tho program doesnt pick up until jr/sr year
gl getting them CS test banks too considering probably .001% of greek life goes that route

Guys, stop fighting. Everyone knows you're ALL equally retarded trashbirds at FSU.

Physics and Mathematics, I love it. I already am thinking about grad school and I have already accepted the fact I won't be getting a huge salary.

t. uf grad
imagine going to school on that ugly ass campus
Yeah I know he's right - I took up programming at a VERY young age and in high school i was the quntessential 400lb hacker. I've lost a lot of weight and gotten fit since so now I just look like a really out of place fratboy in a sea of asians, hypebeasts, and zit-faced fat kids in most of my CS classes.
Nah we're definitely not on Pike's level but that's fine. My dad was a KA in the 80s so I didn't have much of a choice

are you the Jow Forumsbro i was talking to the other week about coming out to interview when im on campus next month hiring programmers?

I shooped my name onto an engineering degree and transcript. I have 2 interviews for engineer positions this week. Will see how it goes and let you know if i get away with it and if it was worth all that hard work.

thats the only pic i had on my phone lol i took that when i still lived there

t. incel/feminist

Studying teenage women.
Would recommend. College girls are the best girls.

Graduated last year with a Chem degree and haven't gotten a job since

Former math and physics major here. Ended up going to grad school for physical chemistry. Be very certain you're okay with the lower salary before you do it. There are an unbelievable amount of mouth breathing retards in these programs, not to mention you'll probably teach for a while. It /almost/ ended up being not worth it for me, but I got into a stellar group.

I want to go back to grad school. What do you do now, and what did you study, specifically? Either your group or just the topic if you don't wanna dox yourself.

I was really interested in organic electronics in my undergrad and did a number of research internships in it making organic conductors. I was gonna do my PhD there but realized there is basically no jobs in that field at all, at least in Canada. It's all HPLC/GCMS/ICPMS with a bit of organic and polymer scattered about pretty much it seems. I just fucking hated organic synthesis and liked pchem/materials a lot morr

Also is the group that important? I had the opportunity to work with a pretty influential photochemist (30k citations) but wasn't very interested in his research and worked with a prof that started only a couple years ago. That's who I was intending on doing my PhD with.

Bump. I'll be back in a bit to answer some questions

I just can't wait until everybody grows up and there are no more collegefags on this website.

Accounting.
Everything is depressing and you're underpaid for your hours spent. Do yourself a favor, if you're going to wage slave, do it as a union tradesman. You'll make a lot more a lot faster, and you can actively tell people to fuck off and not get fired. Loving it

I'm actually in synthetic chem, which is probably the worst of the three disciplines you mentioned. The analytical stuff (hplc, gcms, icpms) made me want to eat a bullet. That sort of thing will be the first to be automated though. In the us, it seems like a lot of materials groups are getting a ton of funding.

As far as picking a group in concerned, the key thing to remember is that the pi name will usually get you into an interview, but you need the hands on experience to actually get a job. If you don't enjoy what you do, you probably won't be as good and won't be able to compete with other PhDs at that level.

Fortunately for me, I got into an internationally honored synthetic chemists lab, so it was kind of the best of both worlds. Starting with a younger professor has a lot more risk, but the rewards can be pretty good if its niche enough. My best advice is to do something you enjoy, and it's better to go with a professor with an up and coming professor than one with a middling record. Just be prepared to work a ton to help get that group off the ground.

The biggest mistake you can make is to study accounting to be an accountant. Thats kind of like learning English to be an English to be an English teacher.

Use that accounting degree to get a job in finance, or get an MBA or Law degree (Corporate/IP Law).

Devon....?

I went to UMD it was aight

What trade did you learn?

Computer Engineering with a stats minor in my senior year.
I know some quant friends at Citadel but idk if I want to do quant shit. Thinking about doing a devops role building out pipelines and infrastructure for hedge funds or just anyone that needs it. Canadian but looking at the UK via ancestry visa or doing a TN visa for the states.

Engineering at a school in the NW
It blows
The social experience is dope provided u take advantage of it but otherwise not worth it

Also set a record by getting kicked out of 3 different frat hours in the span of 30 minutes fuck with me

user, i....

Lol DTD, Dudes touching dudes

You can make an absolute fortune with a math degree homie...

... you've got a golden ticket if you have even the slightest little bit of ambition.

basically same boat, opposite directions
cs + math, looking at quant - worked at a hedge fund this summer, but doing infrastructure. now i wanna do the quant shit

I graduated 3 years ago. Nanoscale engineering and materials sciences masters.

Every accountant I know is a fucking NPC. It's the most NPC-ridden major in the world.

Cybersecurity, seems like itll be worth it. Some of my classmates have already been hired onto 60k/yr jobs with no experience and still in college. Also knew a dude that graduated and was hired by boeing and is now making 110k/yr. Future looks bright.

There's money in analytics.

Source: I'm owner of the biggest independent analytical lab in my country.

tech. chemistry its pretty gud

I'm studying accounting and I don't even like it. I'm not good at it and I've just lost interest in it. I thought about switching to business admin, but I feel like I won't be able to get a job with that degree. I have no idea what I want to do with my life.
I feel like I am fucked for life.

>Not going to technical college instead

Damn, I graduated from State in 2012 and this thread brings me back.

>tfw was in mid-tier frat
I have a lot of good friends now who were Phi Sig and KAs as well. Good fucking times man.

go accounting then get into fraud/anti money laundering. you'll make less money but investigative fraud wants accounting...

literally the biggest scam aimed at our generation.

if you live in a country where education isn't free and you would need to get into debt to go to college, i guarantee you that if you take the money you'd be in debt for and invest it in index funds and wagecuck for the same amount of time that you'd have spent in college, not only would you be significantly wealthier than if you were to go to college, you'd also be debt free as you'd have made enough to pay back the loan you took out to invest.

I've made a decent amount of bitcoin over the past two years, enough to retire, and I'm wondering whether it's worth going to college for the sake of it. I'd like to go for an english major to read and become better at writing.

York College of P.A
I study public relations and film. I'm only into investing because it's the closest thing to gambling I can do without having to drive an hour out of town. I'm pretty good at my P.R work. The film thing is more or less for fun but I've talked to a couple people who run studios around here. I'd say it's been worth it.

I say so, studying physics at UC San Diego. The FinAid essentially paid for tuition but I did take out some loans to get started on building credit. I am hoping to get a Masters in Medical Physics and a career in Radiology. The only thing fucking me is the workloads/understanding upper div theoretical physics.

Absurd. Unless you quit at bac level.
>studying something you’re bad at and hate
Even worse

Finance major here
I love it, probably because I'm autistic though

Attached: 1529426463655.gif (200x177, 811K)

Imagine the smell.

I majored in accounting.

Says the butthurt English major. Accountants are just very hard workers who know that a few years of slavery in public accounting will be well worth it.

>YOU HAVE TO GO INTO DEBT TO GO TO COLLEGE
Liberals are actually retarded

FSU is based and redpilled

Based and Delt pilled

Attached: MoreDerek.jpg (2048x1536, 548K)

I'm not technically "in college", but I'm doing my online shit for real estate pre-reqs right now and it's pretty fucking boring.

>don’t major in accounting if you want an accounting job
Good luck getting anyone to hire you if you don’t have an accounting degree

Accounting sucks ass but sometimes it's enjoyable. I like corporate tax. Sometime I go on Reddit and shut down all the edgy teenage leftists who think they know a damn thing about tax.

CS major, don't feel too optimistic about the future and starting to wonder if the market for software developers is becoming overly saturated. Not worth it for most people, but it's a basic requirement for any decent tech related job .

Went to College Of Charleston for a year, way too fucking expensive, and I got kicked out for plagiarism. I didnt care because I was a millionaire for a week during that time, but then crypto crashed and now im going to a tech college then seeing if a fucking college will accept me after I got kicked out of CofC lmao

Also: Not really worth it unless your family has deep pockets and are going to a tier 1 college with tier 1 social groups. College is fucking full of ways to waste your money, go more in debt, and turn you into some liberal faggot who thinks if you touch a girls butt without asking permission its called rape

I had a fake rape accusation against me at CofC and had to talk to the cops about it and almost went to jail over something I didnt do.

College = not worth it

Now im focusing more on trading and how to be a good trader, while just taking classes for either finance major or econ major.

Attached: 160923.jpg (1600x1200, 446K)

Economics, it's not worth it if you don't go on to graduate school. Which, I have no plans to. Graduating next month and trying to get into finance so my degree won't be completely worthless. Getting rejected everywhere though. Don't do economics.

accounting

yah, i'm studying japanese. it's not worth it really, i just do it for the fun, the girls and when it comes to career i'm working on being friendly with a lot of different people.
if all fails i'll just become a con man
