only monero is just a single feature, privacy, something every coin is going to have to have at some point, and can be gotten entirely for free once second layer merchants become the dominant way of paying in crypto instead of the base layer.

each block comes about 4-5x faster than bitcoin, but that means nothing given that on-chain transactions can't be the future of blockchains if they're expected to scale.
and once you depart from the base-layer, base-layer security becomes meaningless when money stays on the second layer for the entire loop.
