I have a college degree, I'm working $15/hr at a dead end job shuffling papers. I just want something that has room to at least learn and move up, I can't get fucking anything. Only shit shady companies have called me for interviews. I have to jump through so many hoops just to apply to one job, including uploading my resume AND manually having to fill out my entire work history every fucking time. Then have to do these bullshit "aptitude tests" after I send my resume that make me want to eat a bullet, or "complete your application process" by taking stupid ass fucking shit exams. Like NIGGER, I have 4 years expereince, I THINK I KNOW HOW TO FOLLOW BASIC PHONE DIRECTIONS YOU FUCKING KIKE
What happened to the days when I can just shake someone's hand and get a job? Wtf happend?
>Wtf happend? boomers filled all those jobs and still occupy them
Lucas Anderson
Also is there any benefit to applying for multiple positions at one job? Like, would me sending my resume for one job allow them to consider me for a different position, or should I apply to every position that I can even if its the same company?
Jackson Cook
>including uploading my resume AND manually having to fill out my entire work history every fucking time I fucking hate this so much. If a company makes me do this, I just move on. Not applying. They're clearly a bunch of shit heads
Chase Walker
Been stubborn on taking minimum wage jobs...
Colton Turner
y u no network & skip dat bs?
Aaron Jenkins
dont take them its not worth the effort. I worked in a cafe job sweating my fucking ass off making drinks for 500 customers meanwhile some consturction workers making 3x the money and just chillin around half the time
Owen Kelly
iktf bro. we're just part of the lower part of society. We have potential to move up but we either lack the discipline to do so, or the ability to learn a skill that helps us get paid more.
Therefore, we're stuck in this daily cycle of misery and self hatred. The cycle of the wagecuck.
LOL i literally make more than that bartending part time standing around talking to qt teenage hostesses. look at this dude
Elijah Garcia
how do i become bartender
Eli Cooper
I once became a bartender at 16, I just drunkly came to a random restaurant with my friend and asked for a job, guy told us to come tomorrow. Worked there for a whole summer, getting 40 euros a day. Nice money for eastern europe and at 16
Alexander Brown
Seems like service sector is the “easiest jobs” to get into these days. Our entire normie debit credit system revolves in the recycling of funds via foodie nights.
Is this our best shot if someone doesn’t have a STEM background
Adam Edwards
I feel you, I have a degree in economics and work a technical support making 16 per hour, for the past 2 months I've applied for jobs that pay slightly better and have had 1 interview. 30 years ago I'd have some white collar job that is salaried equivalent to 50k lines up easily. I'm thinking g about giving up finding a better job and just accept my 50 cent pay increase per hr every 6 months.
Holy fuck are you me, I also have an econ degree and working shit wage. I dont even get a 50 cent raise every 6 months but my responsibilities are increasing. JUST
1. get on linkedin 2. build network 3. meet people out for coffee 4. join meet up groups 5. have a biz centric interest so you can make the correct small talk
applying for jobs via random resumes is awful. i did it once and didn't get anywhere. i lucked into someone who knew someone who put my resume on correct desk.
good luck
Elijah Roberts
Thx. I am too shy to post a pic of myslef on linkedin, should I do it anyway?
Dominic Allen
This An for some reason they larp > Oh I'm going to retire as soon as I can, can't stand this job anymore Then work until 85 (or death)
Cameron Price
If you want to do this then go into fine dining. Did it while I was studying CS. The tips are high and you regularly serve influential people from all sectors. I made it a habit to treat all my guests well, give them the best service, have some banter and entertain them a bit (not too much or you annoy them) while looking confident/competent. They always end up asking what I'm doing, I'd tell them CS. 2/10 times the guy gave me his number and told me to call him so he could hook me up with his contacts, straight up offered me a job etc. That's how I got my first job as a dev and even met one of them again on a vacation where he invited me to his private cellar and we clocked some fucking expensive French reds.
Christian Thompson
Hm interesting. what did you do? just waiter? I have experience in food and actually cooking is a passion of mine, sounds like an interesting plan
Brandon Gray
Yeah waiter. Barmen don't have much contact with guests (at least where I worked). Make sure you're well groomed, do what you're supposed to do and can make better (funnier or more intelligent or both) conversation than the average waiter (not that hard) and it's easy af.
Kayden Long
Get a useful degree, network, apply yourself, write a better resume and cover letter and be willing to move. There's a huge shortage of skilled labor in so many industries and its just getting worse with all the old boomers retiring.
Gavin Robinson
>There's a huge shortage of skilled labor in so many industries like?
Dylan White
>many industries Which ones? Legit
Tyler Cruz
you just start talking to people. find someone with a job or salary you want and simply ask them about it. you can meet people anywhere and just talk to them. if you arent good at talking then you have to practice. it'll come with time. And this is important. If you meet someone and you seem to get along with them and you think they might have a job you want or if they can help you get job you then fucking man up and ask them for it. People cant read minds and you will be surprised what people will do to help others sometimes. If it doesnt go your way then fuck it, you gave it a shot. Now try again tomorrow. Eventually it gets easy. You can do it user
At my school anyone in the Pilot program is guaranteed 2 interviews with major airlines, accounting is hiring like crazy (guaranteed regional or B4), computer science is big, tons of trades are hiring (heavy duty mechanics are making 60k starting minimum), nursing and medicine are self explanatory. The only people I know not getting jobs are the fucking losers who never cared and thought they would get a free job instantly from randomly applying on linked in or indeed. Get a fucking co-op, pick a useful degree or trade, go to some networking events and you're set.
David Walker
Just why are you too good for low paying job? People working at mcdonalds are better than you since you are unemployed.
Brody King
>make better (funnier or more intelligent or both) conversation than the average waiter (not that hard) do you even know what site you're on?
Carson King
Go through school, check school clubs or alumni networks, check sites like eventbrite and attend events hosted by people in professional industries. Whenever you meet someone ask for a name or business card and email them or add them on linked in. Keep drilling away and create a good elevator pitch for yourself where you can quickly explain who you are, what you do, what you're looking for etc.
Adam Moore
Its even worse than this when you factor undermployment and people working just part time. Real unemployment is 30%
Tyler Robinson
>works at a low paying job I never said I was better than them you nipwit. My frame of mind has been rather getting a job that would enhance my career.
Logan Phillips
Shut up wagie, neets deserve better jobs than that. We've suffered enough. Let the NPCs do the shit jobs
Robert White
Checked. Sauce?
Joseph Foster
A very simplified answer: too many people and too little meaningful jobs. It will only get worse as the population increases and jobs get replaced by automation.
Hunter Cruz
I was a NEET for 3 years. I have a degree. I took what I could get. I worked that shit job until I wanted to put a gun in my mouth. People who give you the job respect signs of hard work and dedication. Not some entitled little bitch. You can fill out the resume all you want and lie about whatever survey you are taking. They can see through the bullshit. A lot of them probably came from nothing. I walked into an interview and looked them in the eyes. They saw how fucking hungry I was. They saw a man who has suffered pain. I get paid 300k a year now. Never gonna make it with that attitude, kid.
Hudson Rodriguez
Yes. When I started as waiter I was awkward and nervous and autistic. Couldn't talk to them lightly, sounded stuck up and too formal or stuttered because I was nervous or said weird shit. People I served looked at me weird and 2 times even asked the manager for a different waiter. After a while you get used to it and get better. If you do it long enough you get confident and can hold a conversation with anyone about anything. Just get out of your comfort zone.
Hunter King
>People who give you the job respect signs of hard work and dedication.
Not true at all, in fact if they see you taking initiative to take more work, they will simply pile on more work to you without rewarding you for it. youre better off acting like youre struggling
Kayden Sullivan
Who's the one making 300k? Me or you? Fuck off back to your room, NEET. I bring in roughly 600-900k after my capital gains from swing trading.
Angel Price
I did this on and off for two years as my savings dried up while I lived with my mother. I finally got a job but it sucks. The only thing stopping me from quitting is the job search.
Jonathan Rogers
This post is the biggest load of bullshit I’ve ever seen.
Alexander Gonzalez
Stay poor or work hard, your choice. You don't deserve anything.
Brayden Nguyen
This is the worst thing that can happen. You're basically an indentured servant if you have debt.
Kevin Lee
Im a profesional with 10years of experience from a shithole country
I would literally suck cocks for 15 usd/hr
Jason Green
Good thing I went to a cheap shit state school, heheh
I would rather blow my brains out than be a cocksucker
Angel Moore
Larp. I too user make 500K from trading cattle futures and I stick my dick in 10s every night while I retire to my private jet to go to Vegas
Jackson Green
Fuck off mexican pajeet nigger. Obivously your wage has more buying power comparitively in your country. Sure you only get paid $10 but a meal is probably less than $1 for you
Meanwhile you know how much a months rent in a SHITHOLE apartment surrounded by bums shit and AIDS needles costs in my city? Take a guess. Hint: its probably more than what you make in a year pajeet
John Evans
I started fresh out of college at $25k, which is less than you. Nearly 4 years later I'm at a different company making twice that. Your degree is worthless unless you prove yourself as a competent worker. Most degrees are memes these days. That said I'm still a miserable wagecuck.
Jordan Richardson
Become a med technologist.
You can literally get a job anywhere you want, with no questions asked as long as you have the certification/education and can pass a drug test.
No multiple interview, employment history scrutiny, references bullshit.
Julian Edwards
Based boomer. You tell those damn kids.
Juan Carter
I love how mad you get, namefaggot.
Landon Hill
It's simple. You're over educated and under skilled.
Jonathan Bennett
Business intelligence/data science/ big data
Adrian Lee
truth is you are nerdy looking or ugly as fuk. if you are at least decent looking you can get any job
Noah Smith
college degree = highschool diploma these days, masters or phd is the only way to go if you want a good job as a result of education
Mason Clark
Like trade skills. Electricians, plumbers, welders, ect... Jobs that entitled college grads think they are above. Meanwhile those guys make 100k per year.
Lucas Bell
Well at least you have a degree, Op. I'm failing college and desu I don't even know why I'm still here . I hate my major and I feel like I will never get a real job. I only have like 8 years of bartending/server exp on my resume, so I don't think I will be able to get a real job in an office.
I've applied to a lot of shitty office jobs and I haven't gotten a positive response. They all tell email me back saying the positions been filled.
