Marketer here. 10 years experience and in a highly technical role (quasi-developer). Pushing 180k a year (wagie). Interviewing for jobs that pay up to 260k.
I'd say the industry you are in is very important. Try to gain experience in finance, medical device or big software industries. They generally pay better, but require experience for more lucrative roles.
A lot of brain deads and lazies that make it easy to stand out.

They don't teach you jack about finance and other shit no matter where you are in the education system here. They expect you to be a good cattle and go somewhere without your head on your shoulder. They've succeeded so far.
