Hello, Jow Forums. I question pop up in my head a while back and for the life of me, I can't find an appropriate answer. In a post-apocalyptic world in which city states are emerging in their infancy, how would trade & economics work in this new brave world? Also, how would Business & Finance be like for the emerging city-state
What would a post-apocalyptic world economy look like

Imagine medieval europe
So mercantile economics?
Foodstuffs would serve as the base of the economy.
Medieval wasn’t the best example. But food and clean water would be the most sought after goods after the first few months.
>post apocalyptic world
There will be not post apocalypses
Look into something called global dimming or the areasol masking effect.
TL:DR
pollution from industrial activity blocks sunlight keeping the planet a few degrees cooler
once apocalypse happens planet goes into run away global warming no more habitat for humans.
A good example would be third world failed states like Somalia and other African countries. Mass famine, warlords, and people dividing up into small tribal units raiding each others’ shit because it’s easier than growing (and defending) your own.
Medieval Europe was founded on an existing social order that evolved over years. It was actually pretty stable and organized All the technological advancements since that time wouldn’t just completely disappear instantly, either.
Bullshit. People can survive in fucking deserts at the equator and I’m the arctic. We could adapt and find places while the pollution in the air slowly dissipates and the sudden end of new greenhouse gas emission allows the climate to return to an equilibrium. It would be a catastrophic couple of years but the species could survive unless the apocalyptic event itself leaves the atmosphere or water supply too toxic.
A lot of recordkeeping would be done on PDAs that aren’t connected to anything
fuck try and understand something before typing.

>>the pollution in the air slowly dissipates
Areosols act as a deflector of the UV radiation, once the apocalypse hits and industrial activity shuts down the areosols drop out of the atmosphere within a few weeks, so the planet warms an estimated 1 to 2 degrees C within a matter a weeks.
This will be enough to tip global warming over the edge,
>>the sudden end of new greenhouse gas emission
wrong with the rise in temps all of the green houses gases trapped in the permafrost and shallow sea methane hydrates will be released. This is already starting to happen and may be unavoidable. It was the cause of one of the great extinctions in the past.
There may be a few places humans can live but we will be living like cave men and no one used to modern life would want to be alive.
TPTB know this, I think they will do everything in there power to avoid another crash as the climate is already near tipping points.
Another factor that you may be unaware of is that if there is an shtf situation there are 450 nuclear reactors over the world that will most likely be unmanned (who will be willing to go to work in shtf situation)?
If the reactors are unable to be shut down properly which is a long and expensive process very unlikely to happen during shtf the atmosphere gets fried and the planet is radioactive for longer then any life can survive.
This is as good as it gets enjoy shit while you still can.
Imagine the ancient country of legend Asuka
This is good though. The strong survive while the weak perish.
One more thing op
>>in this new brave world
ahh dude, have you ever even read the book? this is the world that we live in today, with a little 1984.
Post apocalypse even if humanity even survives is lord of the files plus The Road.
So how long will it take for society to rebuild itself?
If shit gets bad enough then no large mammals will be able to survive.
Historically it has been the smallest and simple organisms that will survive massive planetary state shifts, and become the "strongest"
If humans are able to survive the ones around will be bad ass.
In certain parts of the planet it will get so hot that even a bad ass in the shade will die from not being able to cool off. Called "wet bulb temperature"

What about books?
Well then humanity never deserve to live in the first place
>So how long will it take for society to rebuild itself?
around 50,000 years, same as it took last time
High latitudes, access to fresh water and good soil. Bonus points for isolation & some manufacturing. IE Canada, Russia, Scandi, & Northwest USA.
that depends on the ecological conditions...
can you farm in your post-apocalyptic world?
Yes, why wouldn't you.
It would be very hard to survive without new anime, manga and light novels. No new vidya games either and even the existing ones would be useless once consoles and personal computers become inoperative due to lack of parts. Also no Internet which means no cryptocurrency and no shitposting on Jow Forums anymore. I can't imagine such an existence.
It'll be worst than medieval Europe. Quality of life will drop sharply. The bigger and more complex something is, the worse it will end.
It might have to have something to do with the apocalyptic events that ended civilization as we know it
>I can't imagine such an existence
Have you tried living a real life?
anime is better than real life
It completely depends on the nature of the people inhabiting the post-apocalyptic world.

What about fishing?
Fish populations are shrinking at alarming rates from overfishing.
Human meat is still on tje table
only found in settlements. otherwise very heavy and vulnerable to water. survival books and manuals will make it.
You're a moron. It has been far warmer and there has never been runaway effect. Go back to the 70'S with that bullshit Sagan.
