the new fundamental computing unit that blockchain offers to the world is the primitive of trust. trust both financially and technologically. there is a degree of trust in bitcoin due to its permanence, longevity, and robustness that exceeds the degree of trust in any other altcoin. crypto does not evolve in the same way that other technologies do precisely because of that notion of trust that is so fundamental from the bottom up to the top down.

people trust bitcoin because there is no figurehead, no company, no authority behind it. it is one of the purest representations of blockchain in that sense. the idea of blockchain is to open source the very notion of trust and identity. who trust vitalik to make good decisions? who trusts a team of pajeets? no one. people trust the code, the value, the longevity. in this sense blockchain and crypto represent fundamentally different valuation schemes than muh car companies and muh tech companies.

people trust bitcoin because it's bitcoin. it's anonymous, it's leaderless, it's untamperable. it exists. i offer to you that unless a fully leaderless, open trust alternative is established and proves itself over years, that bitcoin will not be unseated.

new tech does not translate into higher value. if there is any truism in the crypto world, that is a demonstrably true statement. new tech =/= higher value.
