Hey user, I'm not a trader, just long term user with developer background, so I'm just going by fundamentals (if I'm using the term correctly). What is On Balance Volume? That is, if it's easy enough to just give me a quick rundown.
Now go yahoo finance or whatever site you like, find the chain link chart, and add the on balance volume indicator.

Okay, read it and checked on yahoo finance. Am I reading you correct if I say price will go up because selling (days with negative price development) is lower volume? Hence interest in buying and holding is greater than that of selling? Just trying to understand the point user!

put simply obv tells you if as many people are buying as are selling. If more are buying then the coin is in demand, and vice versa. Right now we are seeing a slight price retracement but the obv is barely budging, which indicates movement upwards in price.
obv doesnt use candles man, I think you are thinking of daily volume.

It uses "sell volume" and "buy volume". How does it tell the difference? Volume is just a number. It tries to guess sell and buy by the colour of the candle, but thats super unreliable.
