>I'm new to the stock market, what stocks should I buy? Before you buy anything, make a brokerage account and read investopedia articles and/or the books in the OP list. If you don't have a broker, you can't buy stocks, and if you blindly buy things without understanding how the stock market works or doing any research on the individual stocks you're buying, you will lose money and it will be entirely your fault.
> AMZN - wow, i feel great about this investment: 4 weeks ago
wonder what happens next
Bentley Butler
Thank you based Powell.
Mason Evans
Lol, stock boomers need a containment board to get the fuck off Jow Forums. It's business and finance, not buying the top of a ten year bull run and finance
last correction didn't break the year long uptrend line this one has solidly broken it if it breaks the line below the one I labelled it is seriously OGRE
Then force QE and drop interest rates negative for my gains
William Mitchell
\o/ Based Powell doing what must be done to save us all from our own greed!
Samuel Ramirez
Needs more lines, maybe a spiral, I like spirals
Thomas Baker
IF IT GOES BELOW THIS LINE IT'S ALL OVER
the entire crypto market is a speculative bubble it will never recover it had its moment in the limelight, and nothing came of it this is a temporary correction
yes you can and I have been doing it and winning for 2 years
Aaron Young
Yes, no. Gold standard is just as much of a meme as fiat currency. Some sort of universal energy token would make more sense.
Nathaniel Wood
last correction didn't break the year long uptrend line this one has solidly broken it if it breaks the line below the one I labelled it is seriously OGRE
What's the upside of buying IBM at the moment? It has a good dividend but a very yikes div coverage It's P/E and forward P/E is good but it's PEG is abysmal It has a 6 P/B Is buying Redhat actually going to increase it's revenue to the point it will actually compete with the overall market? >doubt
we're gonna go down nobody really knows how far though
new tech like HFT has made the market more volatile so the averages based on 30 year long market cycles are now bullshit
Daniel Nguyen
You sound a bit frustrated m8
Caleb Ross
>ITT people who think this impending market crash is a bad thing Cheer up, guys! Gotta’ have a brush fire to clear out the foliage so that the forest can keep growing in a sustainable way! You’ll back in no time, son! Just buy some more and just you see what your portfolio will look like in 30 years!
*sip*

The market has been artificially inflated for the past two years. Market corrections like this can easily bring us into a recession because of that sell without thinking.
It's because they are in the new market of electric cars.
Carter Watson
Scary. My work is coming out with a big product this year, bad time for a recession for us. :/
Samuel Morales
those are historically way less of a meme and don't bubble much if at all depending on your definition
AMD has been a meme for 20 years
Thomas Walker
So are Ford and GM
Hunter Edwards
EV don't compete with used cars as much you have lots full of huge supply of used ICE vehicles to compete with as new ICE.
Joseph Morris
There is no new market. EVs and ICEs compete in the same market. Plus GM has EVs, too.
Aaron Williams
who let the guy with the shitty twitter memes in?
Andrew Russell
AMD was legit gains, when it hit 20+ it started going crazy on thoughts it would replace intel server usage and it didn't materialize
Not sure it's really a sign of much more. AMD has done better but couldn't replace INTC enough and had no crypto bubble.
Zachary Gonzalez
stock market crash doesn't necessarily mean recession, but it usually accompanies one caused by other things that can affect real world companies, like a debt crisis (both 2000 and 2008 fall under debt crisis)
Nolan Flores
*cant allow themselves to realize Tesla is a meme Since becoming normie bait a few years ago, there are swaths of people relying on it as a long term investment instead of just a volatile bet on Elon doing crazy shit. Many cant afford to think its a meme at this point, and thats why shareholders partnered up with bears to get the SEC to keep ramming it up Elon's ass since the Rogan podcast.
Connor Howard
Shut it box lord
Aaron Kelly
>Tesla sold 114,102 cars so far this year >GM sold 30,818 cars so far this year >Ford sold SEVEN THOUSAND LMAO at your life
Brayden Moore
Lending seems pretty tight now, but I wonder what other looming disasters will pop out.
Charles Jackson
a few % of new buyers wanting only EV and you get full demand. Tesla has an easy market right now.
It's similar to being the only SUV or only Truck maker when they didnt exist before.
cobalt -50% price since beginning of 2018 Lithium -50% price since beginning of 2018
Jose Robinson
EV cars, sorry I should specify But buying F under the justification for it's EV fleet is silly
I have no idea if a disaster will happen since disasters usually happen BEFORE the stock market crash. Unless we suddenly have a corporate debt crunch this stock market crash will probably be a minor protracted correction that won't go below 08's peak.
Jackson Wright
basically, other car companies did analysis on resource cost and slowed down on EV as lith/cobalt raised in price over the past few years
the prices crashed this year on those, and Tesla had no choice but to go forward with EV, so they basically hit a "call" on those prices.. everyone else is slowl
Josiah Brown
nigger tesla has sold 300k cars EVER
Jaxon Ross
>they always say “hodl” but they never hodl me We’re gapping down tomorrow. It’s fucking over.
Other car companies priced out their strategy to get into EV on that crazy rising price Tesla didn't give a fuck about pricing and went all in
pricing dropped on battery commodities just as Tesla ramped, basically lucky as fuck.
Jason Gomez
GM and Ford are only doing EVs as a "metoo" thing. Neither is really commited since they are run by boomers.
All it takes is for one serious competitor to ruin Tesla's day. Someone who actually knows how to productionize shit (ie not Tesla), isn't a scam (ie not Nio), and actually makes designs that doesn't look like complete shit (ie not Japanese).
Parker Rivera
Would the reverse happen too though? Like would a stock market crash cause something like a debt crunch, rather than the other way around?
