Summary: >whole new browser based blockchain/currency developed in Javascript and Rust >mining/setting up a node/creating a wallet is completely installation-free >use NiPoPow sidechains and mini-blockchain scheme to sync in less than 10sc >whole new address system based on IBAN format so that you can’t send funds to the wrong address because of a typo >ultra user-friendly design >algo PoW: Argon2d (memory-hard, GPU and ASIC resistant) with 1 minute block time >compatibility with Ethereum smart-contracts through HTLC >Schnorr signatures >marketcap: ledger support >able to send NIM to people without an account via Cashlinks >DEX agora.trade is being made with Nimiq and Ethereum to start. agora.trade is found by co-founder of Melonport Reto Trinkler.

Wow yeah my $350 CPU making pennies a day sure feels competitive. Glad the team did right by everyone making it CPU in-browser mineable.
Zachary Phillips
The browser mining has been more of a proof of concept than a viable way to mine since mainnet launch, where have you been?

>Hashrate continues to climb, has nearly 4x'd in just over a week as rumours of a GPU miner continue to circulate. The apparent efficiency of the GPU miners isn't much higher than CPU miners, which potentially makes both viable options
Ok........
So they are ok with CPU mining getting fucked?
Isaac Johnson
>The apparent efficiency of the GPU miners isn't much higher than CPU miners i saw someone say 350kh/s from a 1080ti thats miles ahead whatever you can get from cpu(s) for the equivalent price
Kevin White
Definitely a bad sign they are ignoring this.
Austin Cox
It was an inevitability anyway, and if GPU miners don't pull much more efficiency than CPU miners anyway, more people mining on the network makes Nimiq harder to get, which inherently makes it more valuable as long as the project is promising and people are interested in getting it. The team chose Argon2d as its algo in the hopes that GPU and CPU mining would be relatively the same, since they projected GPU miners eventually coming anyway if the project was successful.
You can already see the effects of this already in the price action on HitBTC, it bounced off 25 sats a few times and is now back to 30 sats instead of tanking back down to the original bottom of 16/17 sats because the breakeven price for miners is higher now.
Really, if you're a CPU miner and you got a stack early you should be more than ok with the increase in hashrate. Only people I see who are upset with this are people who know their mining rewards are getting severely cut because the mining market is now potentially being opened up to a much larger mining community.
You'd have to explain to me why you think the coin potentially becoming GPU mineable is a bad thing.
I saw that too but there was lots of talk today saying that the GPU miners aren't as efficient as that dude thinks they are, and have benchmarks in the discord suggesting as much.
Carter Howard
>I mine using sushipool i think im getting fucked right now.
i wonder where the new floor for this is. I plan to buy more when my funds get unlocked but dont want to get jewed. however it's getting stable at 30sats now which is almost twice as much as 2 weeks ago...
Dominic Wood
receiving less nims from mining, guess I will have to start buying soon before price jumps up 2x or more
Luis Gomez
we're almost at 2x already
Michael Ramirez
>still mining after they upped their cut to fund 'projects' and now have a majority of the hashrate Shiggy
Jonathan Gray
in other words youre saying to just stop all mining efforts?
Charles Rivera
Sorry, I meant "still mining sushipool"
Cooper Lee
so what pool should i use
Samuel Green
Beep is great and has the best miner. Nimbus is good as well.
Alexander Adams
do you have their discord ? have q to ask
Brandon Allen
Nevermind. Keep mining sushi.
Isaiah King
>did right by everyone This is not some commie coin. You put in more hardware and electric, you get more rewards, as simple as that. >CPU in-browser mineable Still possible and will always be, but as OP said it's more of a PoC until the Rust rewrite is released. Anyone who is a miner has been mining with the other implementations. The only serious use case I can think of for browser mining is to monetize websites with thousands or millions of users. Besides that it just showcases that the blockchain is browser based in a more graphical way (normies and brainlets can see a world map with connections being made etc), something those people wouldn't really grasp the concept and importance of if you just tell them (I mean people still claim to be "mining" Electroneum on their phones, 95% or more of the market participants are still literal brainlets).
All in all I'm looking forward to the GPU miners. There's a botnet dumping roughly 1/3 of all mined NIM on HitBTC everyday. GPU mining will cause this to become a lot less profitable and lead to a better price for holders.
CPU shills who don't want anyone else mining use the browser mining excuse as a way to justify not allowing GPU or any other type of miner on the network because they're selfish and want larger mining rewards to themselves. Browser mining was dead on arrival as dedicated clients have always outperformed the browser mining.

Im said I dont mine 3k daily but still been able to secure 800k..now ill have to just buy. I regret so much that ive hestitated at 18 sats..
Landon Cook
Pic related, cpu miners asking for team intervention.
With the way the hashrate is going you'll be saying the same if you don't buy at 25 - 30 sats in a months time.
Ryan Rodriguez
well but Beep has 0% fee at all times
Liam Ward
objectively false just go look at the payout channel in the discord. 1% fee
Luis Harris
I know. But two days before hashrate change I wa a like.. fuck I need to buy, project is gettin traction..there was this one beep of hashr above 1,2-1,3 and I knew its coming. But had btc on other two exchanges..one needed small KYC.. ok ill do im tmrw.. bla bla.. drinking coffe..boom price 40-50 sata ;D coyld buy 400k and bought just 200k.. meh, what can u du..
Aaron Miller
so after 1 week how much fee is there onon o n nimiqpocket?
