>Sixty-two percent of jobs fall short of that middle-class standard when factoring in both wages and the cost of living in the metro area where the job is located, according to the study by Third Way, a think tank that advocates center-left ideas.
>Some areas, such as Myrtle Beach, fall short because of a scarcity of good-paying jobs. Among the biggest cities, Los Angeles, New York City and San Francisco were ranked fairly low (172nd, 168th and 174th, respectively) despite thriving economies because of their high cost of living.
>A big reason for the dearth of middle-class jobs is the offshoring of millions of middle-income factory positions to countries with lower labor costs, such as China, in recent decades and the spread of lower-paying service jobs.
i dnt have that picture but goods without governemnt interference became chaeper. but where government ist deregulated, like education, goods became more expensive.
Zachary Scott
>libertarians told me lower wages would be offset by cheaper goods. it would be if it wasnt for the commie bailouts of the government and retarded keyniasm economics
Mason Myers
>i dnt have that picture but goods without governemnt interference became chaeper
Yes, because the goods are produced in shithole countries. You literally cucked down your salaries so you could buy your shit cheaper from overseas. You just forgot that you can't produce everything overseas so those things are much more expensive now due to you cucking your salaries.
Logan Anderson
when the fuck did minimum wage go down?
Ryan Long
It's almost like they lie so corporations and 1 percenters can get more at your expense.
>and the cost of living in the metro area where the job is located so, clickbait
Mason Adams
I shovel a huge pile of shit for 16 hours a day and get paid 50 cents. I blame unions and immigrants and government regulation. My boss desperately wants to pay me more, but unions and immigrants and regulations get in the way.
>he still pretends that economics is a science It's all baseless propaganda m8. Economists can't even agree with each other on which propaganda they support.
Camden Watson
Middle Class has become a retarded goddamn meme. IF you have shit tier wages and are making ends meet you're not fucking middle class.
Middle Class is when you have between 1-100 million dollars. Upper Class is over 100 million. There is a universe of difference between a billionaire and some boomer with a couple of million dollars in combined assets.
Leo Myers
Don't be racist you have as many burritos as you want!
Adam Clark
Inflation is caused by the fed
Cooper Gomez
This. All the faggots complaining about "muh corporations" and "muh 1 percent" are just economically illiterate useful idiot goyim. Yes, goy, in an era where government is larger as a function of GDP than it's ever been historically, the solution to our clown world economy is more socialism. :^)
Don't forget fractional reserve banks. >store $1 in the bank >bank gives out a loan for $10 >bank collects 5% interest on the $10 they made up >inflated the money supply by $9 >still only gives you 0.1% interest on your original $1
>Middle Class is when you have between 1-100 million dollars. It's time to stop posting retard.
Pretty much this, the post-war american and european middle class were and still are being slowly dissolved to create one in Asia, the West has not won anything from globalization, people have begun to realize it that's why they are electing someone like Trump and trashing the lies of globalism, especially when not only the material conditions are worsening but there is a huge social decay mixed with a demographic replacement.
You must think a million dollars is a a lot of money This is centre left Keynesian economics
Caleb Cooper
>A big reason for the dearth of middle-class jobs is the offshoring of millions of middle-income factory positions to countries with lower labor costs, such as China, in recent decades and the spread of lower-paying service jobs Well there ya go If you treat the whole world altogether as one economy (through free trade agreements) then the distribution of jobs and /kinds/ of jobs will equalize across the world, even if it takes hundreds of years This is why the Chinese now have a middle class, who have seen almost ALL of the world's economic growth for the last twenty five years
Also, being realistic, we can't simply keep up the relative economic growth and prosperity that we (America) had in the years right after WW2, it was simply a high point that people look back to, but on the other hand we don't have to live in poverty or a cyberpunk future
(To me it's a lot like the crypto bullrun in 2017, every new level of wealth achieved becomes the new floor that you worry about going below, even though you never expected to reach it in the first place)
He's not wrong in the fact that capitalism (= a merchant society) enabled jews to grab so much power in society. Before the french revolution/industrial revolution, western society were divided in 3 castes that are as old as th firste indo-european societies: the warriors (aka aristocracy), the priests (aka clergy) and the producers (aka farmers and craftsmen). International merchants (typically jews) were often considered outsiders and didn't have real power in society.
When modern capitalism began to really take a clear form then those people were extremely empowered, suddenly there were a shitton of specialized good produced and country were forced to exchange much more than they used to do. In parallel the aristocracy was basically dismantled (as they were not really needed anymore to protect locals), rationalism made the clergy a meme in 2 century while industrialization/mechanization killed much of the artisans and farmers. Today merchants rule and jews are the most skilled reason (for a very precise reason but I won't be talking about it in this post).
Is Jow Forums actually this retarded? Who do you think owns the banks?
Jaxson Brown
shareholders
Parker Collins
And who are those people? I dare you to look up their backgrounds.
Asher Mitchell
hedge and retirement funds?
Brandon Bailey
A large part of the post war boom was linked to an Europe in ruins too and making it super easy for american products to capture the market.
That said americans always lived in abundance (being a semi-continent full of natural ressources and all) and probably live in the only country that would be able to live in autarchy right now while maintaining its economic complexity.
Cringe and bluepilled. Look up just about any investment banker and there is a 90+% chance they are jewish.
Jaxson King
When Jow Forums says "jews control the economy" what they really mean is that there are a lot of jewish executives in major banks
Kayden Clark
this. When a market needs to crash...it needs to fucking crash.
Take house prices. After 2008, homes should have lost more than 100% of their value, and their real valuation shouldve been down sub 100k for many middle class homes.
But when you pour gasoline on the market with very low interest rates, give banks a bail out, then guess who gets to own all the notes to the homes to cause an inventory crises of homes we're having today? Thats where we are.
True libertarianism for markets would be horrible crash but a very quick recovery to find a supply/demand equilibrium.
Kayden Reed
Gee, so then I wonder who is behind . Really makes you think. >hurr durr muh socialism
Gabriel Parker
clearly he jews must be behind it
Anthony Martinez
And who owned them during socialism? kys faggot
Jose Ross
>banks >socialism What's it like having an IQ of 50?
It's a lot easier to sell socialism to people when you don't actually call it socialism
That's basically our corporate crony capitalist system, the banks know that they will not be allowed to fail so they take risks, keep the profits when they turn out ok and subisidize the losses from their bad risks with socialist bailouts
Socialism is where the government and industry have merged, that is exactly what happened in 2008 with bailouts and will happen again in another recession. Our corporations have an implied safety net from our government. It hasn't been acknowledged as much the last few years because the economy has been strong and more overt socialist policies of bailout and subsidies haven't been necessary.
It's like people have the attention span of a goldfish baka
Whatever you want to try to claim our current system is, the reality is that our government has been taken over by corporations/big business and have been able to fuck over the American people freely (mostly via Republicans' policies, sorry, but this is the reality). Wages have been stagnating/declining for a very long time now, well over 20 years, so this isn't a recent development. And all the while corporate profits continue to increase exponentially and Republicans keep lowering taxes for big businesses and the ultra-wealthy. Republicans and Laissez-faire capitalists have proven for the world that trickle-down-economics is complete bullshit. Given the opportunity, corporations will do whatever they can to continue consolidating power, continue to stagnate/decrease wages, and continue to destroy the middle class for the sake of short-term profits they can show to stockholders. We've been watching this unfold now for a very long time. Can't believe I ever full for the bullshit "Republicans care about the middle class" meme.
Luis Wilson
doesn't know the definition of socialism
Matthew Lee
THIS. FUCKING THIS. Although I never fell for the Republican mean. Republicans are worse than Dems, and they're both trash parties also corporation owned. We need to fucking revolt. We need an entirely new economic system. We need to hold accountable the companies and banks who play without lives and happiness to fatten their pockets. >Be big oil exec >Fund studies to trick stupid people into believing climate change isn't real >Studies are incredibly flawed, can't even get published in scientific journals because of how shit they are >Dump a ton of money into PR for the studies >Trick a bunch of idiots into believing climate change is fake and big oil is our savior for shining the light of truth >Don't give any fucks about the fact that you're also making sure your lineage dies out because you literally only care about yourself and pathetically meaningless existence.
Jaxson Perez
In usa democrats are not real democrats, that's why they were afraid of bernie winning over hillary. And many reps hate trump. It is a total mess and will end up in a civil war beause you are trying to control people for your own benefits
The banks are part of a govt-protected oligopoly, dumbass. They are poster children for rent-seeking socialist scum. This guy gets it Who is the view over there in Plato's cave?
>a political and economic theory of social organization that advocates that the means of production, distribution, and exchange should be owned or regulated by the community as a whole. >Socialism is where the government and industry have merged
Community and government generally mean the same thing in this context
lurk moar before trying to give a lecture on something you don't even know that you don't know anything about.
Identical at this point retard. Literally the same entities functionally speaking. Imagine thinking we're living in an AnCap utopia, by your logic Feudalism was a golden age of free enterprise.
Owen Cruz
Lower wages are offset by cheaper goods. That’s great. Now how about we do something about the greedy jewish landlords.
What you are referring to is last stage capitalism. The 'winners' of the free market want to preserve their wealth even if it means undermining the very system that allowed them to flourish. If the masses at large choose not to hold their elected officials or media accountable then this is the result. MSM politics is nothing more than WWE storylines
Asher Collins
*late stage Anyways at this point its fucking over so who cares.
Luis Baker
what is the 'late stage' socialism then? the one and only dictator holds all power and everything else collapses under violence and poverty?
