1.) They go after the big whales and retard retail traders trying to stay in the country with millions gained from crypto, without paying taxes, and without doing anything or trying some retarded scheme to hide it.

2.) They will try harder scare tactics, say that they're rounding everyone up that invested in crypto and traded on chinese exchanges and throw them in jail. In actuality they will round up 100 or so people and use them as examples.

In both cases you're fucking fine unless you have significant gains, and unless you're actually using coinbase like your bank account making thousands of dollars worth of transfers every few weeks, in which case you should have followed the proper protocol to keep track of your trades to properly report.

If you do not fall into these kinds of people, if you're someone that just bought crypto at some point, moved them to binance or bitmex or wherever, and trade alts or margin trade without cashing out, you are 100% fucking fine.
