If you are still in high school, those kids that are the most well off/have the highest grades... their parents own a business of some kind or have stable, long careers. [That's why their household isn't fucked up and their kids can study/are type-A personality goody two shoes, have goals, etc etc] FIND OUT WHAT BUSINESS THEIR FAMILY DOES. And find out if there's something they do that interests you - intern with them, work for direct cash if possible make connections, etc.

Any job you can get with no skills will likely never develop transferable skills and no pay raises (waste of time).

You could become a supervisor in retail or in fast food in like 12-18 months if you should any competence and you try and learn everything there is to know. That will give you decent money in the next two years or so. I don't think there's much advancement beyond that though, you can still move up but it would likely take years.

Unironically get into bartending. I went from no experience to making at least $200 a night cash (up to $500) plus $12 an hour in 6 months. I got lucky with a friend who recommended me but you can barback almost anywhere with no experience. Plus theres huge opportunity to manage bars/clubs after a few years experience. Not to mention you get laid once a week and actually learn social skills like a functioning human

You need to research trades and find something that appeals to you. Most of them aren't particularly exciting but if you aren't going to college its better than being a retail slave.
