Which Skycoin community? There are literally 100s of Skycoin telegram rooms. One for each country, and one for each aspect of the project... Skywire, Fiber, CX, CXO, Games, DIY Skyminers, Official Skyminers, Other Hardware, Development, Merchandise, Memes etc etc.
There are even fitness rooms and recipes rooms. The SKY community is massive and diverse. It's one of the reasons McAfee was so impressed - apparently his tweets about Skycoin are getting crazy levels of interaction from the community.

SKY is a coin, not a token.
A token is something that runs on somebody else's blockchain, for example NEP-5 tokens running on NEO, or ERC20 tokens running on Ethereum (rubbish like OMG, FUN, LINK etc. are just tokens)
SKY has its own blockchain, and Skycoin Fiber also allows other projects to launch their own independent blockchains on the SKY platform (for example, SolarBankers, MetaliCoin, MDL, ApolloChain, KittyCash etc.). Each SKY blockchain is independent, so congestion on one chain won't affect projects running on another chain (unlike ERC20 and NEP-5 token projects).
They dont accept them as payment as they are distributing them, it makes no sense to hoard them yourselves you dumbfuck. SKYWIRE and SKYCOIN mainnet is not the same. SKYWIRE is an app in the SKYCOIN ecosystem.
