No, but rural IL here. Like 3/4 of my local peers moved to Nashville after college. They seem to like it for the most part but the hyper growth is not without its problems.

Hands down the best city to live in for 20s-30s right now unless you’re rich. Can still afford some property, good food scene, decent art scene, very young, lots to do, outdoors activities, plenty of work and financial opportunity. And best of all, NO STATE TAXES.

Downtown Nashville is smelly. The bars on Broadway are basically generating food and alcohol garbage or 16 hours a day and no one's dumpsters are getting taken often enough. I just stayed a few days there recently and had to avoid a gross number of puddles of dumpster runoff while walking. And there were a suspicious number of trash compactors I started noticing around every corner after I got fed up with the trash smell.
Also the fucking scooters are an epidemic and need to be taken off the streets. Literal mobs of street urchins buzzing around on electric scooters all day long.

Chicago suburbs here, was considering making a move to one of the Nashville suburbs if I make it. It's that or somewhere relatively rural out west but Nashville seems comfy

user, I’m talking about income tax. I pay an extra 1% in sales tax to save 20-30% of my salary. That’s like spending another few hundred bucks to make like $30k. Not a bad deal.

Unless you're comparing TN to Europe then you aren't saving anywhere near 20-30% on state income taxes. Most states are like 5% and even Cali is only 13.3% and only for $500k+

Grew up in Nashville. Went to Wright middle on the southside then Stratford High when I moved to 12th and Woodland St. Lived at 904 S. 14th St. before I finally moved away. My mom was a local music celebrity for a long time so I grew up in the music and Broadway scene. We're gonna make it Tennessee bros
