as a retard who got into crypto around Christmas 2017, I have no idea what it was like. Was it a singularity type of event or a parabolic rise over time? What % daily gains?
Eth's run up to 1400k
look at the chart you fucking decemberfag
imagine not being able to sleep everyday. imagine going into discords with thousands of members cumming due to euphoria about becoming rich and making it. imagine of having to wagecuck everyday and telling your boss to eat shit. it was surreal.
it happened in an extremely short timeframe much-much shorter than BTC's run.
eth kept lagging behind btc more and more hxc, then suddenely it started to rocket and supprass it
Yeah. But also plenty flash crashes on kraken and gdax (when gdax still had margin trading). Duckduckgo it.
it was fucking magical
it cannot be described in words
you missed something great
Checked. You'd go to sleep and like clockwork your ETH went up in value.
Until it didnt.
raiblocks pumping on new years eve and new years day was the greatest moment of my life
it pump in 6 stages
first stage around march, pump to about $20 because of partnership
second stage in april, pump to about $45
third stage in may, pump to $200 because of some ETH conference
fourth stage is the putin pump, pump to $400 because of putin rumor
fifth stage is the pump to $700 during december before the altcoin bull run starts
sixth stage is the pump to $1400
It happened the same time of the year and way it will next time.
compare the timeline
ETH
March, pump to 20
April, pump to 40
May, pump to 200
LINK
September, pump 2x
October, pump to 4x
November, pump 30x
If LINK follow ETH, then it will reach about $4.50 in November
This. I'm a poorfag and I woke up every day with 5k gains. Can't imagine what people who actually had a decent chunk of money felt like.
It was pretty glorious, my future looked bright and I wasn't depressed for once. I bought ETH at $2 and you can imagine what compounded gains looked like when ETH was above $500... $1200 to $1400 was surreal
I kept thinking
>I 'made' more money last week than what this whole class and this prof combined make in a year
>'Made' more money yesterday than what the whole staff at this Mcdonalds makes in a month
Having been an early hodler it just seemed like that bullrun was unstoppable.
...aand then the crash happened.
spoiler alert: I'm bagholding hard and I've cashed out less than my initial investment.
never get too greedy anons.
Oh I can answer that for you. I'm not rich but I am "well off" , it just made me complacent so I never took profits because I didn't need the money.
I was on vacation in Greece during January. I walked out onto my balcony, opened Blockfolio and that was the moment I crossed $250k worth of LINK. My god, that was a brilliant feeling. Can't wait to hit $1M in the next year.
>it just made me complacent so I never took profits because I didn't need the money.
Same.
But now I'm thinking how fucking stupid was not to cash out almost anything.
If I had cashed out at almost any point in late Dec or Early Jan I would have pretty much made it.
Off the top of my head, details may be off:
Rose to $50 around beginning of April, then hung around the $40 range for a while (I bought here). Then gradually rose over the next few months until it hit $420 in early June. Then it started crashing, all the way down to $140 or something like that. Rose back to $300 in August and then stayed there for what felt like forever. Finally started to rise in late November/December along with bitcoin going from 10k to 20k, hitting $600-700 or something. Then it pump rapidly as bitcoin started to fall, getting all the way up to $1400 for short time.
I had a very strict "don't touch your LINK" rule. I have enough to make it so I didn't want to risk messing that up. When it hit $1.40 and then dipped to $1.30 I texted my linkie friend that it would probably be a good time to sell but I'm not allowing myself to do that. Big mistake. I'm still set when we hit $10+ but I could have been set at $2-5. Whatever I guess, no point being greedy over what's done.
What happens to the price of ether on January when Constantinople hits?
I made 30k one day. It was awesome.
It was all you retards buying eth to buy shit20s with
At first it was pure suffering because fat old grandpa bitcoin ate all the gains. Then was a lot of selling off at 500 because fuck dude, it doubled overnight. Then a few retards fomoed at 1200, while others kicked themselves for not selling the top...
It was great but also shit unless you had insider info on when the whales were going to dump.
this post is proof that we still have a long way to go down. retards like these need to get weeded out so we can finally pump
>95% wasn't enough
Just how greedy is too greedy, pajeeto?
Should i sell bros
Anybody else remember Blockfolio lagging badly because everybody was checking it repetitively?
Yeah, that's why I switched to Delta. Which also started lagging if I recall.
It was the greatest time ever. You felt like god as your portfolio sky rocketed. The problem is for morons like me, pain and regret have followed. Now life is boring and never the same. Sometimes I wonder if I should have even bothered with crypto.
best recollection of it ITT. timing the top was plain luck, in early 2017 everyone laughed at moon kids predicting $100 ETH by the end of the year. then we blew past that in May with the ICO craze and every reasonable metric broke
>he doesn't have the "fuck it idc market sell it" gene
