I'm with you except the $5k/link statement. How exactly was that number arrived at? If someone wants $5k collateral to provide data to their contract, why would the price of link need to be anything in particular. That would mean 1B total link would be vying for $5 trillion in smart contract collateral.

Now that i write that out, i can see where it's possible if indeed all of commerce switches to the blockchain and chainlink is actually able to deliver on their concept
