Exactly. How do we know the concensus mechanism will even work? In the end we're still relying on people providing correct data to the smart contracts for profit, while designing the system in a way that prevents as many of the incentives to falcify data node operators might normally have. We have a good chance i think. If chainlink fails smart contracts use case on the blockchain goes down the drain because i can't think of a better solution.
