LINK tackles the problems of SWIFT while doing everything SWIFT already does but cheaper and more efficiently. Dont expect any hig fireworks for a few years yet, but when banks start adopting crypto (XRP will likely be first) in their internal transactions, LINK will logically be adopted to fill in for international transactions. Ripple can't fulfill SWIFT's necessity, but it is definitely a huge money saver for internal banking transactions.
