I worked at a multi-national tech startup in Barcelona.

Spain is mostly technically illiterate. Our company was basically scamming Spanish businesses and so were a ton of foreign tech companies. Add to that imported Indian developers overcharging for simple solutions.

Not to say they aren't great tech people and devs but mostly Spain is really behind in tech.

I supplement it with sign and writing and most people have been very friendly.

Most of my friends are studying/have studied computer science/software engineering, one has a master's in economics, one a PhD in electrical engineering. Only one of them owns BTC(CS student atm like me).
