If you can make $150K a year in California (not uncommon for an engineer), and split a 4 bedroom for $1500/mo, you'll still be saving loads more than any Midwest nigger making $60K. The problem is that people move to California and expect their 70K a year marketing job to be an upgrade and quickly find out that a 1 bedroom is $3.5K/mo+, and that they have other bills too. After tax, they have nothing left.

If you live frugally in California you can save 2X more than living in a Midwest state for the same job. The elite in California live with their parents for free, and get to save an entire $150-200K/yr paycheck. They can become millionaires very quickly by investing that money with leverage and having the income to service it.
