Be okay with living in the big house every few months
Isn't true minimalism to live in the woods at one with nature? No home or financial commitments.
bump.
i just moved and threw a bunch of shit out.
I shop quite often at the dollar store. anytime I go elsewhere, I penny pinch and buy store brand items if they're cheaper.
What's your favorite minimalist painting?
Fuck you are all bonobos. Minimalism has nothing to do with being a cheapskate. It's a spiritual and aesthetic philosophy.
Make a poverty thread if you want to talk about living in simulated poverty.
Keked
this is one of those options that sound more appeasing everyday
Is anyone here a real minimalist and not just a tight ass cheapskate?
I become one after going through some hard times in my life, decluttering works amazingly well to ease the mind.
I sold everything I no longer needed (not the crazy degree where you don't even have a TV or bed). Got rid of stupid furniture, all the crap I've been storing in the drawers.
My house now takes a fraction of the time to clean, I've got more money and having an organised space really does make a world of difference to mental health. Moving house is now a much much quicker affair.
Onto the financial benefits. I used all the extra money I had from selling shit to invest (still just ahead of where I was when I started). I no longer buy stuff that I don't need. It's like my brain has been rewired. When I want to buy something it bothers me more about having more junk in my home.
If I ever get bored at home from lack of materialistic shit, I go for a walk or do something productive.
Being a minimalist doesn't mean having a stale white room with absolutely nothing in it and having to have 'minimalist art' that is just a solid colour.
Similar. After going through a rough patch and then making more money than ever, I feel good selling off or getting rid of stuff.
THIS.
Stealing is low key the most red pilled thing you can do to take advantage of this cuckolded sciety where everyone is trusted to be an NPC and pay because of social constructs.
I save about 500$ a month by baailing on restaurants after i eat.
Preach it. I hope that one user posted the minimalist paintings to bait people, because otherwise I'm gonna lose my faith in humanity twice in the same day
Buy vegies and fruits on the vegies market instead of supermarkets, buy your rice and legumes at pajeet shops, if you eat meat buy it at musie halaal butchers...it's eaven better quality for like 30% less money...if you are a smoker roll tobacco, roller cigs are slimer so you will poison yourself less and it's much cheaper. Avoid alcohol (a hard one for me), and if you go out drinking preload at home so that you spend 50% at the bar. Buy clothes in 2nd hand shops, or during sales/black friday - it's a pain to be in the crowd with the normies but you will save money. Buy a solid computer 2nd hand but not used to much and still has warranty, it's important that it's a good PC so you can use it for the next 5yrs minimum.
Dont fall for the shopping jew, shopping should never be an activity that is a goal to itself. Avoid debt, of you cant afford something without taking debt, than you should probably not bè buying it.
Also of youre a wagie dont eat out during lunch, cook your shit at home and take It with you, it's healthier and way cheaper
I'm about to move in with my parents while making 6 figures.
Has it opened your eyes in a cynical way? That is my only issue. I see so many people (mostly woman) with loads of luxury goods, new base model BMW/Merc/Range Rover and see the lack of satisfaction in their eyes. I have to visit a variety of homes due to the nature of my job and these same people never have anything that looks appealing, just loads of stuff clearly purchased on credit, no true class, loads of clutter.
Guys on the other hand are usually more organised but load up on tech.
I don't blame any of these people, they're living the life they've been told they want to live and spending clearly works to keep the dopamine hit running. Maybe it's just where I live but I know endless amounts of people using credit recklessly. One of my friends used his credit card to buy a Bigmac meal because he was broke (110k yr job) and another who used a service called Afterpay that lets you use a payment plan to pay off goods in installments to buy a $60 gaming headset.
Even though this sounds like a rant, this is a business board and I'm ashamed to say these same people are the reason I can even run a business and take full advantage of them.
I'm living in a countryside, in a quite small house so cheap to stay warm in winter, mostly with firewood from my own forest. Fishing and hunting is almost free, I grow something in my small garden when I'm not too lazy.. garden could be much bigger, I have the land. No visible neighbours, 5 kilometers to the nearest smallish store so not in middle of the woods though. When you plan your meals in advance, you can eat tasty and healthy food with under 3$ a day.
Just reading, listening music, browsing biz, doing body weight exercises, having sex (yes I have a wife), walking in the nature, making slow food, fixing the house and garden.
I'm not contributing much to the society, I'm not paying much taxes, I'm not buying useless shit from Black Friday sales, I'm not making babies to feed this jewshow but I still feel like I'm living the life as I should. No stress, no alarm clock.
Just trading enough shitcoins, stocks, goods to keep us in a little better food.. not dreaming about Lambos or mansions, which are actually both fun for like a day or two and too much hassle after that.
Easy and comfy living..
based
Idk desu, this seen pretty comfy.
okay and where is the working station with a big tv/beamer and a cozy couch in front. something which is everyone of us using 20hrs/day?
>discovered I can buy clothes online second-hand (but often still new, new-ish, or barely worn) for way fucking less dosh
>can even sell my own clothes there
>have about 20 articles of clothing packed in a box to ship there
>going to exchange the credit on a few better pieces i actually like and look good in
I always feel guilty throwing things in the trash. I have a scanner, for instance, that I don't use and don't want to take with me the next time I move. But it didn't sell and it would be fucked up to just throw a perfectly functioning scanner in the trash.
I try for this but due to the guilt it's hard to get rid of stuff. I have most of it in a box waiting to go but I can't find a taker. Already sold the valuable shit.
I rarely leave my house and run a business from home etc. When I travel its just on vacation to other countries so I dont really get a glimpse into other ppls lives. I also dont use social media.
I get annoyed at some of my past purchases. I guess like when I see some video on youtube of a girl with a shopping haul or a ton of funko pop figures I get a bit annoyed also then I try to correct myself thinking of some of my own personal pleasures like nice hotels or wine or computer equipment or experiences Ive paid for so I cant be too harsh towards them since I have purchases I regret.
I only have 1 credit card that i use for a bunch of automated bills/utilities. Everything else I just put on debit 1% cash back.
I think Ive just spent a lot of time disconnecting from social media and the news and really trying to focus on myself, family, friends, my small tiny bubble and since my work keeps me away from people I guess its even easier for me.
Im working on a shared economy project in my free time and one thing Im always reminded of is the people who I reach and help to save money or consume less, theyre the people who already take steps in their own lives and I cant expect to really ever reach the people who enjoy consuming.
>not subsisting off free fruit and coffee from your workplace
I only eat one meal a day unironically. Rest is just snacking on bananas. I've actually seen some of my retard coworkers bring in their own fruit.
>bed at a diagonal to the room
*No*
Utterly based
Please tell the story of how you got to this point. I wanna be like you.
>That useless hallway
>Diagonal bed taking up too much space
>Only way into the bathroom for guests is through the private rape closet
>need to mail package
>list return address the same as delivery address so you don't have to pay for postage.
I have my living room set up like Nagato Yuki-san's apartment. There is one low table in the center where I eat and work. No chairs, only pillows to sit on. The 43-inch TV sits on a long table along one of the walls. This layout makes the room seem larger and spacious. It's very comfy.
it needs a wood burning stove in the living room and it beceomes pure cozyness
Please make a thread just about this, share pics, etc. You're living what is a dream for many of us. We need your guidance.
Based. Imagine what would happen to the economy if everyone were minimalist.

huh?
Of all the places to steal from
You fucked over the staff in that case more than the company
How do you get shredded and big on a budget?
what's all that shit on the table? how some people can live with so much fucking clutter is beyond me.
rice and beans
Aren't carbs just gonna make you fat
Any good advice except running for it when they are not watching? Better to zo during crowded times?
Carbs keep you full.
Probably this.
spastic
Serious my dream life (saving to get small house with some land), although I would love to have some kids.
Minimalism, a way for NPCs to feel cool
Eat Halal and do not drink. Allahu Akbar. That is truly the best advice brother

I gave some of my stuff away for free, because it wasn't worth that much and I wanted to get rid of it quickly before I moved. In my country there is a website for buying and selling stuff, which also has a "free stuff" section. You can ask them to collect it from your house, so you don't need to make much effort. I gave away a set of headphones that was broken on one side (probably wouldn't be hard to fix if you have a soldering iron) and a few other things.
that kitchen layout is fucked

Isn't this Patrick Bateman's house?
> faggot decorations

true minimalists are rich, not poor. you they will generally buy very few but very expensive items, or use a lot of disposable things, because minimalism isn't just a concept, it's also an aesthetic, and nice looking things aren't cheap.
>true minimalists
upper middle class nonsapient bubble dweller alert
its true though. you're not a minmalist if you're trying to save money by buying less, you're just frugal.
True.
I just despise any 'movements' that are vaguely ideological, that's why the comment.
You are right.
Also, minimalism has a very high entry price. You have to be willing to spend on things that are going to last. If you are not willing to do this, and buy cheap instead, then you are going to end up staying a consumerist, and inevitably piling up garbage again.
Of course, you can find some individual good deals, and buy your items cheapER, but in general you are going to have to pay.
lmao
i dont want to insult u too much if this was your design. but its not good. knock a door from the centre hall to the green bathroom .
move the shitter to the external wall - how are you gonna run a shit pipe into the centre of your house?
remove that hallway between bedroom and bathroom.
move shower away from bathroom door so you dont get water on your plastic floating floorboards
i imagine long white stripe at the end is the hallway in the apartmnet tower
i personally would swap the apartment on the centre axis. so bed + bath on the small side with the floor to ceiling glass, then lounge / kitchen on the large side with more (smaller) windows and two natural light directions
