And there are like half a dozen furry artists in the whole fandom who make anywhere near this much bank. Most are stuck doing generic porn commissions, YCHs and adoptables, and I would say a normal furry's rates probably wash out to something like $5/hr, which sounds like a good deal if you're doing something you love to do and would do anyways for free. But you usually aren't doing what you love, you're drawing weird porn involving fetishes you're uncomfortable with featuring basement dwelling autists' plastic fantastic sparklesonas. Most artists who try to 'make a living' off furry porn can't make ends meet and just end up turning a hobby they (used to) love into a job they now hate. And deeply resenting the commissioners and patrons who sustain them.
Furry porn has the same issue as the rest of porn: there's so fucking much of it out there for free, why would anybody pay for the stuff.

Man that describes so many people who've made furry flash games. There are so many that just like 1-2 OK flash games then go on to produce the cheapest crap ever at a snails pace. And a lot of the time if they get called out on it they leave the job entirely.
As much as I hate furries, I don't I can ever leave the fandom because it defines of too much of who I am.
