Minimalism thread

I’m moving to a shared apartment with roommates. Thinking about just getting an air mattress instead of a bed. Good idea?

it will get a hole quickly, all air mattresses are shit

This. Tried the air mattress way and with in a week I was waking up at mid night with my arse hitting the ground.

get a japanese style sleeping mattress, it's much better than an air bed, and folds to around the same size anyway.

air beds are absolute shit, i'd rather sleep on the floor

Honestly you can get a cheap Chinese memory foam mattress for less than $200. I personally bought a Zinus mattress after a friend tried to shill me on Casper mattresses.
It could be better but I paid $120 for it and can't complain too much. My back doesn't hurt and I feel like I get good sleep.

Are you heavy? I’m a 120 lb skinny manlet.

75kg or 165 lb and 6' tall.

Literally this. I recently started living with a friend in an apartment and I save so much money it's insane. Pic related is what I bought a couple months ago, and every single sleep I've had so far has been /comfy/

get a hammock

get a Zinus foam or memory foam(8-10inch) twin xl and slap it on one of these.

>fell for the "mattress is necessary" meme
mattresses are bad for posture and health. Look into floor sleeping and stop being a little bitch

lol

the absolute state of butters

You actually get good sleep on that thing? Seems way too small. It's fucking 2 ft wide. Even for a small person there would be no room to move at all (i roll around a lot while i'm sleeping)

You're right most people would need something a bit bigger. It's fine for me though because I'm not very tall and barely over 120 lbs

Just yesterday I order an 800$ mattress lulz git gud fags.

Does the qt come with it?

>bragging about getting ripped off

Not gonna make it

He can't afford a bed... the absolute state of buttcoin holders in late 2018.

>can't afford a high test foam mattress and your own apartment
You non software engineers disgust me almost as much as my coworkers.

Kek I am actually a SWE... just a really cheap one. I was renting a 1 br until recently

a memory foam combined with an old school box spring and frame is the most comfy sleep experience i've had in a long time.

>Willingly robbing yourself of being able to store shit under your bed

You best be lifting up that bed because you're losing precious storage space that could be utilized

I own my own condo and sleep on the floor. Has nothing to do with money, i simply prefer sleeping on the floor and know from experience that mattresses and beds frames are the biggest pain in the ass when you move.

checked.

I'm in a 1br apartment laying on the floor with my computer right now because furniture is a ripoff.
I sleep on a years old cheapest-I-could-find foam mattress I use on the floor when I was in school.

This new mattress will surely be an upgrade.

>I own my own condo
What strange syntax. Why would you buy a condo when a house is marginally more expensive? Pleb. My apartment's pretty cool, but I wonder why someone would buy one instead of a 2br house.

i did this for several years to save on the hassle of moving and save money.
i had two mattresses, one got leaky so i stacked them on top of each other and it worked pretty well. got some gorilla tape and glue and got good at finding the holes and patching them.
now i've got a huge foam one.

Enjoy getting raped in your sleep

>Willingly robbing yourself of being able to store shit under your bed

That's what closets are for. Japanese people usually fold up these mattresses and put them away when they aren't sleeping on them. Your bed is taking up floor space when you aren't even using it for most of the day. The whole point of minimalism i having less shit anyway, so i'm not worried about storing stuff under my bed.

That’s fine if you can sleep comfortably on it and don’t expect to ever fuck on it, either. Beds are only good for sex when you need something to hold onto.
