Also, no debt. Obviously.

i should have specified that "a bit less" is on average over the duration. i have only started to make my current salary. 10 years ago i made about $110k. the total savings i mentioned includes my 401k and equity in my home.

What does that mean private stock in a small investment firm. How have you been able to build 700k in savings by 23?

Oh, I forgot one

>$42k a year, 3% IRA match, $5k in MBA educational benefits

Well fuck I’d be at 700k if I sold at the top but you never know what’s the top. Again how the hell you save 680k on a 225 salary. That’s good money but it would take like 5-6 years to save that on that salary. I’m asking bc I make 400k and after 3 years I’m only at 450k

i always max out the company match, but there have been years where i didn't hit $18k maximum amount total for the year. i think based on my earnings now i get pretty close to that, but i always valued the additional flexibility of having money outside of the retirement account. if i knew about the rule 72t earlier i may have considered contributing more.

I take it you've never actually been with a white woman. Most of them are stuck up bitches. Yes the sex is good, but when 90% of the time you spend together is her complaining or yapping about something, the sex tends not to be worth it.

That means I own shares in a private company. The value of those shares is hard to estimate as a result. I did not build anything -- I was born into it. Don't get jealous though, like most private stock the shares are so illiquid they may as well be worthless.

I wish more girls did their hair like this.

I try to save at least 10k-15k a month and yeah that sounds pretty close. I've been saving this way for about 4 years. I don't always make 250k. Sometimes I make 300k+ plus and sometimes its been as low as 220-240k so that's the average. It's important to deduct everything you can on your taxes to make your income lower on paper.

Ok I hear you. But valuing that at 300k-700k means you have some significant equity there. What does it mean you were born into it, parents gifted it to you?

If this is a data mine I don't care anymore

I'm 26 years old with a BSEE working in the field. My income totals about $86,000/year. Since I graduate on a full ride I've been able to accumulate a net worth just shy of $300,000 which consists of stocks, bonds, cash, no crypto at any point ever. I purchased I lightly used car for cash but do not want the trouble of home ownership.

I despise women. I spent an entire adolescence and early adulthood ridiculed by them. I don't like talking to them or being around them. I now realize that I will never marry or have children. There is no shortage of poor, disgusting slampigs that would just love to use me like an ATM.

Dude saving 10-15k a month is quite a bit. My take home on non bonus salary of 315k is closer to like 14k a month after maxing our 401k and ira. But that’s 315k. I guess if you’re small business you can deduct more but I’m just confused if I’m getting fucked somehow. I have to spend at least 5k a month but that’s bc my rent is 2.4k/month

You're getting fucked because you're salaried lol 450k in just 3 years is pretty damn good though. I also deliberately moved to a state that doesn't have an income tax so that's easily another 5-10% saved per year.

It's only a 3% stake. It was purchased (from another shareholder) for me a few years back at 300k. So basically a gift. I say up to 700k now because of how much the company's grown since then.

Why are your savings so low?
You should be putting aside 5-10% of your income at least.

If I didn't know all of the IT jobs were worth their weight in gold, were massively oversubscribed, and didn't want to get raped by the muslim hordes down in london, I might've considered pursueing IT in my youth, I'm blessed to have an uncle that has the most insane brain I've ever known and is able to give me very good advice and something he told me will stick with me forever "listen to the arguments and make up your mind for yourself " then he proceeded to tell me that even with certificates in security he couldn't land a job in IT and advised me it wouldn't be feesable unless I moved down to london after finishing my degree I would need to finish in the top 5% in to be even considered for a job nowadays.

It's a tough slog to make it to the top user I have to admit I am a little envious of you making it in a tough field, but I'm also proud you didn't fall for the Bitcoin scam and actually made wise investments. Some Jow Forums anons could learn from you just by putting money in the bank and being patient.

basically poor money management. worked just hard enough to get by and blew the rest on hedonistic shit, i.e. getting drunk and eating shitty.

i am currently working at a metal shop because i am saving up to go to a programming bootcamp this jan. already been accepted, just need to work my ass off til the program starts.

yeah, im dumb for realizing this all too late but i really don't have much debts and have been living pretty comfortably, albeit poorly during my early 20s.

i'm actually quite optimistic for my future for the first time since ever

what's the business?

sounds like you spend too much. what's your rent? how often do you eat/drink out? sign up for mint.

Dude if she really left you for money you dodged a fucking bullet there. Imagine if you two got married and then divorced she'd take 50% of your shit. Be thankful she fucked off you're still so young you have plenty of chance to make an impact and get noticed.

my income is not typical, as there are people 20 years my elder making half of what i do in the same department. i was just able successfully work the corporate ladder.

i know little of the worth of certificates, but in terms of security -- i approached our chief security officer with a 30 page presentation describing how i obtained administrator access on all computers on the network by reverse engineering the encryption implementation on the company's software installation manager. something the red team missed. it's shit like that has helped me advance.
