>mummy kicked me out today >have nothing but some clothes and computer >going to get an apt, but have no furniture or anything. >start looking at shit on amazon, everything is expensive
does Jow Forums have any tips on how to budget save on 'furnishing' a small apt or house? Comfort being the priority.
Sleep on the floor for now. What’s stopping you from asking your parents to get your bed and shit from your room?
Aaron Barnes
No need for bed, sleep on floor with lots of blankets and shit
All you need is desk and chair. Dont skimp on chair.
One set of dinnerware, blankets, desk, chair. Wtf more do u really need?

Don't panic user. Do you have access to a car or any money at all? Check out your local craigslist; couches are one of the most common things given away, you can score a futon for free or under $50 if you can haul it.

She physically thew me out. We got in a bad argument and I just grabbed what I could as she was shoving me.
I have a shitty car and some money saved up but I have to budget it carefully until I can get a job or crypto recovers.

He said cheap, not quality.

buy second hand furniture. often people just want it gone and will give it away for free if you can collect it. do not get a second hand mattress though..

Get an air mattress it's a good temporary solution for a bed. if you're living alone it's really all you need to start out.
just get a good 20 to 24 inch tall mattress, don't get a peasant teir 4 inch air mattress.
Make sure to play the victim card well, don't shower, get your clothes cut and say you were robbed, then go back and cry to let them you in and say you got mugged in the streets, your mom will feel like shit and you won't get thrown away never again
John Robinson
When I started out I furnished my apartment for $500
>air mattress $120 >Inflatable couch $45 inflatable chair $37 >folding computer desk $70 >folding card table and chairs $75 >coffee table $75 >Lazyboy given to me by my grandfather(his old lazyboy that he had for decades)
Alexander Bailey
Ahh I see. If you don’t mind me asking, do you regret getting into that argument with your mother? Considering everything that’s happened, would you go back in time and do things differently if the opportunity presented itself?
Thomas Taylor
Get an air matress at walmart until you get a decent job. Cardboard box for a night stand. Goodwill has okay prices on dishes and cookware. Search criagslist/Facebook market place for free shit. Probaby not going to be well off until you get a source of income. I would do that first
Aaron Butler
Lazyboy?

Just use cardboard boxes and discarded plywood for everything. A box with a sheet of plywood on top makes an excellent table. As far as sleeping goes, a box with a sheet of plywood on top makes an excellent bed.
Jason Thompson
user have you considered living in a crawlspace?

I use craigslist or curbside for most everything when I first got my apartment. I paid $50 altogether for a bigass rug, couch, loveseat, coffee table, and dresser. I made frenz with one of the maintenance guys and he kept giving me free shit, I actually started selling furniture for here and there when I had more than I needed, I just kept the better out of what was given and sold if new item was worse. If you live near a military base just go cruising around, often you'll see new stuff sitting outside. They move all the time and will usually just throw it away and buy new instead of move everything. Same idea with university part of town, but that's more seasonal, look around semester end.

I crashed at a friend's place when I got thrown out, then bought camping gear from Walmart for $20 and started camping in Walmart parking lots. Got a planet fitness membership and only used it to shower. After a week I got a super cheap niggershack. Somehow had 23 btc from doing random surveys in 2010 and sold those are $13-14k.
Just get free stuff from local Facebook groups, put an add up saying you need furniture
I did that s few weeks back wen I moved,

I remember getting a ton of frozen pizzas. Usually they had a deal 10 for $10. They weren't top quality but a buck a pizza is a super deal. Lots of rice, spaghetti and soup.
