Is there seriously not a dark pool for crypto yet?

Wall St. fag here (low level employee, not larping as some rich trader but i'm cool with the traders since i'm a Jow Forumsizen and they always see me in the cafeteria and want to talk about tiger woods or football. little do they know, i'm constantly trying to change the subject to financial markets and get useful info out of them. one thing i learned about recently are dark pools, do you guys realize how perfectly a dark-pool exchange would fit crypto?

For anyone who doesn't understand what dark-pools do in the stock market, basically buyers and sellers are anonymously matched at a mid-point so you never see the buy or sell orders and they can't be traced back to a specific party. I know initially it sounds like it doesn't make sense and would be illegal per the SEC, but these kinds of exchanges have been around since the 80's and are 100% legal. they weren't as useful back then because there wasn't enough volume and everyone was scared of the idea, but with advances in technology and marketing pushes over the last decade they've boomed in popularity. hedge funds specifically have recently become obsessed with dark pools because it allows them to make giant moves in the market without letting their competition know ahead of time.
i'm too much of a brainlet to do it, but just trying to spread some knowledge - i'm sure someone here is a decent enough programmer to make a shitty exchange that just does basic dark-pool trading of BTC to BTC. you would be wildly rich, just make sure to let me get like .00000001% of the profits so I can retire in a year for giving you the idea haha

Bitfinex has both hidden orders and otc trading, I guess it counts

Decerntralised exchanges and dark pools will come in time as the market matures. Dark pools already exist but the volume isnt noteworthy.

This is internet funny money, rome wasn't built in a day.

it's similar, but a dark pool isn't just the option to have a hidden trade where there's still giant buy and sell walls. the whole point is that giant sell walls or buy walls are a way to manipulate the price of an asset, so by dark pools eliminating the ability to place giant buy and sell walls you achieve the true value of the asset.

nice picture, i enjoy seeing memes with a positive message.

REN

>dark pools
So you want to design a system that uses the technique brokers use to fuck their clientele?

>to fuck their clientele
imagine you're one of the largest hedge funds in the world. you see an amazing opportunity in a certain stock and want to load up on as much of the supply as possible. the only way you can do this is by either slowly placing small orders over time, or trying to buy up huge chunks all at once. the only problem is, the other million traders who know how well your firm does have teams that are dedicated to watching your every move and trying to figure out what you're doing and how to counteract it. you place a giant buy order? oh, let's pump the price so it doesn't get filled and they miss out. you place a giant sell order? domp eet. dark pools eliminate this competitive artificial market manipulation, and you get to choose the exact algorithms you'd like used out of hundreds, sometimes thousands. not sure how that's fucking over a client.

Oh this is a REN shill ok...

>not sure how that's fucking over a client.
It's called "lack of transparency".
The brokerage sees all the info (both sides of the trade), while you only see yours.
The biggest lie the industry ever told people was that this is somehow good for them.

>cafeteria.
It's called the Chow Hall, you hillbilly.

again, false and made up out of thin air. sure, the brokerage is technically able to see both sides, but if they do so and act on that info at all they get anally raped by the SEC. google 'dark pool fines,' in the last year alone there's been over $100,000,000 in fines.

>false
>sure, the brokerage is technically able to see both sides
So then it's not false, is it?

>alone there's been over $100,000,000 in fines.
That should tell you how much they're willing to pay to keep it going.

you're an imbecile. obviously you don't work on the street or you would know the SEC is literally crawling up these peoples assholes 24/7, and you're even more of an imbecile if you don't realize that the blow to your firms reputation after a $20,000,000 or larger SEC fine is not worth being sketchy in the first place. as soon as that fine is announced, volume on your exchange drops more than 75% instantly and lose you a majority of your biggest clents. answer this fuckhole: why would they risk literally losing their entire business and going to jail just to make a little bit of extra cash by being sketchy on the side? it's far more profitable to be the household name trusted exchange on the street.

>obviously you don't work on the street
Sure, but I'm not the one doing the LARPing here.
Have fun.

Sigh. The larp is that youre pretending to have something to contribute. 100% chance this is some boring ass long winded shitcoin shill

Better hurry back, you're going to miss the open.

i don't understand you people. why would i be trying to 'shill' a coin to a fucking hentai forum with less than 50 active users i'm not a pajeet

nice dubs. like i said though, i'm not a trader so actually there's no reason for me to be there at the open.

They literally let anybody stand there, go inside and take another pic at your desk or gtfo

Low liquidity doesn't justify the existence of a darkpool, it defeats the purpose

no thanks i'm not trying to get doxxed. is your argument that i'm a tourist who happens to be on Wall St. at 9am on a weekday by myself and is doing nothing other than posting on Jow Forums? i'm confused, why would that be more logical than me just happening to work here lmfao

i wasn't arguing that low-liquidity justifies it, read what i wrote here about buy and sell walls, that's what i think justifies it.

breddy good, now you realize that whole area has the stock exchange and nothing else. You are a LARP. No respecting firm has an office in lower manhattan. Its literally shitty start up central.

hmm lets see, i just walked past goldman sachs... you're right no self-respecting firm here ahhahahaha. you realize that high-frequency automated trading is won by speed right? read the book flash boys, the closer you can physically be to NYSE the more you win trades by nanoseconds.

LOL, LARP, GOldstein's sack is in TriBECA, where all the gold diggers go to live. Then they have a building across river in case something happens in the city.

haha thats why there is a TJ-MAX next to NYSE. That high frequency stuff is a server box in some closet. Nobody forces top talent to commute to the financial district.

like I said, read flash boys. goldman is one example of dozens of fortune 500's in this area. also, it's on the border of fidi and tribeca, but in fidi if you ask anyone who lives here.

anyways, i had to take like a 15 minute walk to perform that anal fissure on that kid and am getting back to work with my comfy coffee now, but it's a beautiful day and that was a nice lil stroll. have a good afternoon boys, hope you're all tethered up!

That is the most unprofessional thumb nail I have ever seen. Savage beast.

Let me tell you about Republic Protocol.

There are

Does it have to do with dark pools?
Because I hear that's the next big thing.

Yes, or you just live in NYC and are on your way to work in lower Manhattan trying to shill Statue of Liberty tickets in battery park

More than just dark pools. Soon you will be able to make atomic swaps with a simple chrome extension. No need for exchanges, or logging in or any of that shit.

Are you seriously still replying to this thread? You got btfo hard enough to become a screenshot... twice. Try again in a different thread bro, this ain’t the one for you.

It sounds amazing!

I'm still trying to learn about the Habbo Hotel.
Maybe you can help.

Bitfinex and Bitmex already have this. just use "hidden order" feature.

you dont see the buy wall if its a hidden order you sperg

Wow user! I'd love to hear about your interest in that shitcoin in this totally organic thread

I'm dying to hear about it, too.
That and OP's totally real Wall Street job, where he makes the big bucks.

AHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAH OMFG i can't believe you're still trying to post in a thread where you got bent over and anally fissured by a 12-foot long spiked black dildo... TWICE!!!

Attached: 1523219628420.jpg (151x233, 10K)

They should have implemented some kind of mandatory slow down for competition purposes but I'm sure the people making all the money lobbied to stop it

Same. Please continue.

I just like to keep great threads going.
Can you tell us more about your scam?
What was it, something about proctology coin?

He literally just told you that dark pools already exist. it doesn't matter if there are already big buy/sell walls from other trades, wtf? there are no assets without that. the whole point is to hide your own trades, not other peoples. if you work on wall st you're a dumbass

Big purchases are generally done outside of a public exchange. It's crazy to do this on an exchange.

>the whole point is to hide your own trades
OP said the brokerages would never do that to us.
Never!
