your reward for listening to baby boomers
Keep a time sheet and gradually take it back here and there. If you don't have peaks and troughs to do that, then you need to get a new job fren.
the boomers are laughing at you.
You are a slave, because a slave is unable to choose freedom.
ooooooo waaaaaagie
You don't get paid overtime anytime you work outside your set hours? I do, anything after 5pm is overtime whether or not I go over 40hours weekly.
>tfw I get paid to assist to the monthly workers union meeting
Nope
We are salaried. Contract says, "May be expected to work extra hours in order to perform duties".
Absolute KEKFEST. I need to quit ASAP. Firm ran by two boomers with a bunch of millennial slaves under their boot. No timesheets kept since they don't do billable hours, just fixed prices.
Oh I didn't see that you were an accountant. Yeah man switch to something else
In 20 years youll have 0 hour days.
Because youll be replaced by software.
If it says in your contract that you only work 37.5h, then why the hell are you working more than 37.5h? If your boss asks you to stay in late, tell him to go fuck himself.
Lol. Try 2-5. Seriously - unless you’re a business with intentionally illegal accounting practices, algorithms will replace you. Same for radiologists and other ‘technical’ work based on identifying image patterns or calculation. Lawyers are also gonna have a hard time because they won’t be able to bill for research anymore.
>May be expected to work extra hours in order to perform duties
What's the point of having regulations on maximum working hours per week (UK here) if employers can just add this to contract (and literally every single contract has this)
I'm not saying these regulations should exist, but they do. But what's the point of having them if they literally do nothing to uphold the terms they set out?
Yep aapl is going to be audited by unproven robots in 5 years. you’re an absolute fucking retard. and when angelina jolie gets her mammogram at cedars sinai it’s going to be diagnosed by siri. wow your are so fucking stupid
you will continue to be as much of a slave as your co-workers if you take it and dont quit right now.
you are the one signing it, dont sign it if it has that clause in it. If you justify it by saying "everyone does it so i got no choice" then you are a slave
Nah its more like tax accountants and shit that are going to get the cut.
Software auditing for routine or legally codified parameters is gonna be a cakewalk.
Radiology techs too? Damn. Thats one healtcare job that I never considered at risk.
Im going to nursing school soon and one factor I considered was how difficult it will be to automate hands-on nursing staff.
See what happens if you don't stay. Obviously everyone is replaceable but it helps if you do something autistically well so they want to keep you.
the comment was more about how toothless and ineffective govt regulations tend to be rather than about my own personal situation
weve been able to automate accounting since the early 90s and they still hire accountants as fast as they are created
youre getting memed by your pol and your kike professors
33 year old CPA here. I work 38 hours a week, zero overtime ever.
Bullshit audit firms always try to jew young guys with muh invaluable experience. Its a lie to exploit you.
I would just leave on time everyday and then if they bitch threaten legal action. It is not legal to do what they are doing even in the US.
Also fuck auditing and just go straight into private industry. Audit experience is way over-memed. What employers want more than anything is experience with their accounting software which you will never get auditing.
In the uk, there’s loads of things you can do, even if you’ve signed a contract. Just most the people that are in this situation are retarded(job worth’s) or to scared to say no when they are approached.
