Do you guys think now that Eth is down to around $100 that it's worth picking up 32 for staking later on? If Eth succeeds I can see it being pretty lucrative in a few years.
The 32 Eth Club
I think it's a pretty good idea.
Can't wait for ETH to go POS it will be hackers paradise.
The DAO and Parity hack are going to be small compared to the bugs that are going to be exploited in the Ethereum POS code.
>Bring it
You don't think the fact that some of the world's greatest programming minds are working on Ethereum, plus how long they are working on it will prevent that from happening? This isn't some average shitcoin we're talking about
elucidate me: why specifically 32?
that's the minimum for staking
Minimum to join a staking pool.
Minimum required for staking
Eth is garbage and chances are that it'll simply die.
What is the profit from staking?
BSV metanet will crush shitcoins like ETH for breakfast
Yeah sure that's why the DAO got hacked, maybe look up what that was about newbie.
Ow and the fact that Gavin created the Parity wallet must really give you confidence that Ethereum POS is going to be secure.
Like I said...
>Bring it
It will be H@x0rS paradise!!!
No idea lol I'm a brainlet. Probably alot if eth network gets alot of traffic and especially with the recent Amazon web service news
There isn't really any, and you can't withdraw your eth without paying a penalty
But isn't this good for long term investing? So I lock up 32 eth in a node and I do it on some contract that doesn't allow me to withdraw them for 2 years. Like a timelock, but you enjoy the staking rewards you get in these 2 years
Who cares, you're gonna make like 3 pct annual interest. Literally can beat that with one good trade.
>2018
>still believes in Ethereum
You have the brainpower of a dung Beatle. That's a return on par with a Treasury bond
Holy buy signal
>muh PoS
>muh sharding
>muh dapps
no
5% annually
I don't think there's a withdrawal penalty just a time delay of days to weeks to get it out of the validator contract
People here are retarded
We're not in 2016 user. Future is Cardano or chainlink.
Correct so why bother with staking if you can make more by just making one useful trade per year? Or are you saying that ETH staking rewards will be greater than 3 pct?
>Cardano
2-3%
The commie whitepaper dreams are : the more you stake, the less profit you take.
Can a large pool avoid this by sharting?
How to prevent it?
Skeleton didn't think that through yet.
Casper in 2019 is optimistic estimate.
Brainlets you buy now and dump when POS is announced. way more the 3%
Any crypto that is extremely popular and allows you to gain more of it just by holding it is a tool by the financial elite because they will be holding the most and will gain the most by holding a majority of it. Eth staking is for billionaires and millionaires not the pitiful slaves using it to buy groceries.
agreed, 32 eth is wise, i got mine afew days ago
yes eth price will moon assuming circulating supply is halved or more (in staking)
Meanwhile KMD gives you 5.12% for holding in Agama and has unironically better prospects than ETH. ETH's first mover advantage is dying, as the SEC gets more and more ICOs for on securities violations, projects are going to be liquidating ETH to pay fines. KMD will hit new ATH during the next halvening cycle. I don't think ETH will
>imagine being this insecure
>when you got in buttcoin early because you were a loser playing WoW then mistook your gains for an indication of acumen
wallets are clients, they have nothing to d wotj tje protocol itself
gavin has been (thankfully) out of ethereum for a while
the DAO was hacked because of poorly written code inside the specific smart contract, has absolutely nothing to do with whether the network is PoW or PoS
you're an idiot with 0 knowledge of programming to the point even your high picture view is laughably wrong
quit while you're ahead, whatever gains you experienced were the product of luck
Honestly depends on your risk appetite and life situation. If you're making decent money, putting ~3200 on Ether will not break the bank in the long run. If Ethereum succeeds you literally have an infinite money tree on your harddrive, if it fails, you're out of $3200. If that $3200 is literally your rent and medicine money, fuck no.
Pretty much this, you either make life changing money in a few years or you lose $3200, in which case who gives a fuck
I'm buying 32 today.wish me luck user. If ETH success, how much will that be worth? Just sick of wagecucking user
This right here. Already got two money trees, but it's tempting to get a third at these prices. Only one paycheck thou lol
Jennifers Body was a fuckin stupid movie.
Nobody knows man but with supply locked up by staking I'm hoping we can beat the last peak. I'm just hoping for passive income where I can sell the staked ones without touching the principal
>Future is Cardano or chainlink.
>or
cardano is shit and you're fucking stupid. cardano and chainlink would hypothetically be complementary, not in competition.
That's the way I look at it, I make 6 figures and know Ethereum exists, buying at least 32 is suicide prevention, and even if it goes to 0 it's not a catastrophic loss.
