It isn't but there's a lot of people out there who don't seem to understand that an economy is based around people's ability to perform useful work for each other.

Brainlets think that the money is the important thing, it isn't, it's just an accounting system to track the value of work. If it fails, they launch a new accounting system, that's it. The only way it breaks like in Venezuela is when you have a dictatorship that is actively working to destroy the economy, then the value of the work cannot be tracked and transacted at all.
