Question for boomers

What did the most successful people in your HS class do with their life?

Was it generally the same as how well they did in HS?

Zoomers today are like 22 years old max, it might be premature to ask.

I'm looking for 25-30 yo boomers.

I'm 20 and so far the valedictorian has done ridiculously, ridiculously well and a few people have had kids and JUSTed themselves, but everyones roughly the same.

Everyone I know is doing shit. I know a guy who went to a prestigious university with 2 degrees and he's making like 4 bucks per hour as a waiter cucking for tips. Anyone I know doing really well either came from a rich family, got a STEM degree, or got a trade skill. That said, I don't really talk to many folks from my high school. I live like 3 miles away from mine and didn't even go to the 10 year reunion. I didn't want to tell them about how shit I did or find out who was doing really well. I only really talk to other outcast losers anymore.

t-t-thanks bro

Oh, I misread.

class of 2008, basically anyone making over 100k is doing well. Even if they are making that, most are miserable debt slaves and probably already married with mortgages on top of student loans. The ones who are doing really well stepped out of college with no debt (like me, but I squandered my opportunities), but I have wasted my 20s as a NEET and low pay wagie and now I'm working really hard to overcome that. Turning to trading myself.

furthermore, most of us came from households producing 200k+ income that no matter what we make, we will never achieve what our parents made working similar jobs. Companies know they don't have to pay us as much.

tfw HS valedictorian and haven't done shit

Most sucessful: NFL sub
Valedictorian: Dartmouth, Med school, then nurse

Class of 2002.
I really don't know nor care how well or how fucked up my class has done. To give an idea of just how screwed up my class was; Ten years roll around, expected the normal Reunion thing. Didn't happen. Nothing was mentioned about it. No one cared enough. Which is ok; why would I want to subject myself to seeing the girls who were hot then loaded down with kids or have let themselves go?

Seriously though I feel sorry for kids now. All the shit they make you do to even graduate that has zero to do with real world expectations is nuts. I didn't have to do half the shit that they say is "required" to graduate back then. I turned out alright.

25 yo boomer, graduated 2010. i was the valedictorian of my school
lost my job last week
missing half my teeth
half-assedly getting through community college
keep busy. there's an old saying that idle hands are the devil's playthings and it's very true.. sit still long enough and you'll get warped to all fuck.

The only thing I regret is that I missed out on the video camera phone craze. To think of all the fun I coulda had before they (school board) cracked down on it. Made my own private porn video starring the H.S cheerleaders. Back then the girls locker room was below the bleachers; if you knew where to look there was a hole in the floor that allowed you to peep down at the action. If I had one of those pin hole cameras I coulda made a killing

29 year old Boomer here.

The successful people in my HS class ended up as typical office workers and other assorted run off the mill professionals that follow the narrative of society.

You should structure your definition of success differently, if everyone else does the same then it's just normal, it's not successful.

Real success is looking at yourself today, and comparing it to what you where yesterday then noticing improvements, and since you're a Zoomer you do not have the accumulated life experiences yet to be able to look back on yourself in that way.

So my advice to you is to acquire currency, disregard woman and ****INVEST*** for dividend paying growth stocks. You will certainly thank me when you reach my age and beyond.

>valedictorian
>didn't go to a comfy state school or ivy league for free

I don't fucking get it. Why'd you go to cc?

25 year old boomer here

Went to a specialized high school full of bright kids, future doctors and all that. I myself was always an underachiever, got into drugs and didn't do anything with my life. I keep in touch with them through Facebook and most people in my school are now doctors, dentists, some are working for NASA, engineers, etc. I'm making 60k so I'm alright but still a shitter compared to them, with the exception of the 2-3 kids who overdosed or got pregnant at 19 or whatever.

Does being short now has a higher payoff? What do you think of the barbell investment strategy?

As far as I know, the most successful person in my class is my friend, who mined a shit load of BTC early and is currently working on dystopian machine learning algos that will make him a billionare. The rest are all boomers with nepotism jobs.

Don't be short, it may seem profitable in the now, but its not sustainable and its high risk. If you have any money just laying around invest that into profitable companies that pay dividends consistently and have been doing so the past decade or more. Take a portion of your paycheck, at least 10%, more if you want freedom quicker.

Not familiar with the barbell strategy, but do it slow and steady, don't listen to dudebro "entrepreneurs' on YouTube. The money you get will grow exponentially, it starts off slow and you'll get itchy hands, but be disciplined and patient and you will be rewarded and that attitude should guide you in all things in life.

Graduated in 2010. Friends were all high-achievers (literally 2/3rds of them wanted to be doctors). In the end only 2-3 of them are in medical school, but a shitload of them went off to Silicon Valley and are making six figures. Others are doing tech in NYC, and a few are on Wall Street. The "less successful" ones still ended up starting their careers in big multinationals, for the most part. They're all doing really well, while I'm an unemployed NEET. I haven't been in contact with them for years, but I can see what they're doing with Facebook.

>So my advice to you is to acquire currency, disregard woman and ****INVEST*** for dividend paying growth stocks.

FUCKING THIS. BUY PROPERTY AND DON'T BE A RENT KEK. BE THE CHADLORD AND COLLECT THE RENT.

>BSNGtbRO
my ID has bro in it, you have to listen to me.

Why does it seem like everyone is doing good except me?

>Attempting to derive authority from the stupidest shit
Typical adult-babby living with parents

lighten up

>MFW I can't even remember the names of 99% of those losers, let alone give a fuck about them.

It's not from dudebros, it's from Nassim Taleb, a former trader who made millions at the market crashes and ''predicted'' 2008's crash.
But I'm still learning, open to advises, thanks.

Get off facebook. Shit's all fake posts from those people that were once the popular people in high school. Most people I've kept in touch with are doing ok, working their way up, or struggling to find themselves. Valedictorians obviously are doing really good. Even the working their way up people have said they struggled a bit for a while.

People keep track of others they went to high school with? I have no idea what anyone is doing these days and don’t care.

Recently I found out the answer for myself. 28 years old and had my first High School reunion this year.

In high school I was a stoner goth. Cringey and a loser by any estimation, if my children ended up like me in HS I would probably disown not going to lie. Came from a working-class family, Factory workers for generations. Rich Chad boiz we're drinking, getting all the girls and laughing at me.

Graduated in 2009 around the time the market bottomed out. Been working since I was 15 and saved up 5K. Through that shit in the market and tried to make it in New York City like the Frank Sinatra song, ended miserably.

Made the right moves at the right time, didn't become a Mega millionaire or anything like that, but went from being upper lower class to lower upper class. Graduated college, no debt, own a two story house in a gated neighborhood, own one sports car and one motorcycle. Sold a portion of stocks and started an s corp operating franchises. Personal net worth currently about 3.5 mil, 12 mil if you count the business and its assets.

Fast forward to high school reunion. Chad's are broke and some even still live with their parents. Most everybody went to college off of their parents money or took out massive loans, top kek. A decent portion of the girls followed the "MTV 16 and Pregnant" craze and are broke single moms, and the guys got raped through child support. Drug addiction and some jail-time was common. Before I arrived they were reminiscing about the old days like diaper-clad Boomers. Mfw I walk into this den of losers with a 5k suit with a 20 y/o white Stacy looking at all the scum. Mfw seeing that success is the best revenge. Mfw when my HS crush got crushed with regret :) Mfw the tables turned

I'm older (51) and you can call me a boomer whatever.
I graduated in 1985 and joined the Navy after HS and never looked back.
The Valedictorian got a full scholarship and is now a cardiologist and is rather successful. The Salutatorian got a full scholarship to college too but ended up quitting after his first year to deal drugs. By the time I got out of the Navy in four years he had been in prison twice and would spend the next 20 years in prison for trafficking/distribution of heroin.
You never know.

That's one way for a happy life, if you keep track you will keep comparing yourself to them, which is a good path to fuck your mind up on depression.
People tend to sell off on social media. As an example, I've watched a lecture about international law, it was horrible, and I leaved when the speaker said "neoliberalism" after a ton of lowbrow leftist bullshit. After some days, I've discovered that the student presenting it was a known of mine, the post was all good and shining, yet the reality was crap.

Based boomer

Actual 30 year old boomer here. I'm the most successful of my class. 15% are dead or in jail, some for life. I just make websites and get ad revenue. When I started it was like pre-facebook and looked at as just a nerdy hobby people did. I tried getting ppl to join me when I was in college but there was no startup culture or unicorns so no one seemed interested. Nowadays it seems like a meme the amount of people who want to make websites. I just got lucky so early money + years in got me to a couple houses and a comfy business where I get to work on projects I enjoy. Looking at it now, it seems like itd be even easier to start today with all the resources online but most people just say its saturated without trying.

When you are very successfull in HS you think you are on top of your whole life will be like this. Everyone likes you, teachers & students, you think you will be conquering the world.

But you cant even look that fast and in the end get lined up as another wagecuck defining himself how he hates his job but there is no alternative right? So keeps on going and after decades ends up as a boomer reminiscing how he maybe fucked this one hot girl on a party when he was 17.

Maybe Im wrong, but this is just how I look at it. Someone who is content with his whole life doesnt want change, and is likely turn out mediocre.

I am not saying tough that every single on of the typical looser NEET browsing that went through hell in HS here will turn into the next Elon Musk only because he is "different"

Fug, I guess I misread. The successful people in my hs didnt really do much. The people voted most likely to succeed, one dropped out of college to be an unsuccessful DJ. Another went crazy becoming religious. One became a bartender. The women for the most part popped out tons of kids, some up to 5. Most without husbands. The ones with husbands only have 1-2 kids. Gov employees. Thats the top 10 of my graduating class. We had a 10 year reunion, about 15 ppl showed up, all the women ballooned up unimaginably. Ppl that showed up were the top of the class or in the student council.

>that feel when you were a late bloomer

life started for me in the middle of college

The most successful people at my highschool (Class of 2003):
1. Girl born into rich family, both parents got cancer and died within 3 years of each other, she got a bunch of inheritance and life insurance money and is now retired.
2. Guy whos father owned a construction company that went under in 2008, now pastor of a megachurch.
3. Guy who majored in engineering and got, instantly hired because minority, manages other people who do lean six sigma crap or whatever they're calling it these days.
4. Me, Cs got me a degree in College, I incompetenced my way up into a site management position.
5. Girl who's jewish who used connections to be extra on a lot of tv shows, not even famous or credited most of them.
6. Girl who became a doctor.

The rest are mostly failures.

I don't know many specific instances but there is generally a rough correlation WITH EXCEPTIONS.
e.g. some guy who was bottom of the class and a layabout druggy for most of his twenties is now just settling into his father's construction firm which is very well respected in the local community, gets all the local council jobs. He'll do well.
Meanwhile another layabout druggy I know of is a borderline suicidal alcoholic.
As for me I was very good in science but an asocial autist and now I'm like this guy
>I just make websites and get ad revenue
I imagine I'm one of the more successful, but definitely not at the top.

One dude who wasn’t exactly in my class, like one year younger than me I think ended up becoming a deputy sheriff and then gets caught stealing weed from evidence lockers. Needless to say he is now locked up in county jail himself. Dude used to be the giga Chad of the school, but I guess you can’t help stupid.

no idea because I never cared about others than me, didn't even noticed when I was in class with some others humans, except when they were doing some noise outside, I hope life taught them

Most successful was my friend who always skipped class with me and barely passed high school. Now he owns his own hedgefund. He also dropped out of college.
